Sign posted from Oswestry up a small lane. There is parking at the foot of the hill and a stone path to the top, so even though it had been raining you didn’t get muddy. There are a series of notice boards around the site, explaining the history and lay out of the fort. Most of all though it’s a lovely walk with great views. It takes 30 minutes at a steady pace to walk around.

We went on the train ride to meet Father Christmas. Fantastic value, well run and organised. We all (young and old) thoroughly enjoyed it

Heritage railway restoration project and associated visitor attraction, woodland walks, green space, monorail, and more
This railway is a 'hidden' gem in a great environment. It has a mix of standard and narrow gauge railway locomotives and vehicles including some moved from the recently closed Coventry railway museum. The real highlight is the collection of over 100 monorail vehicles including one steam locomotive. There is a working monorail for rides and, for enthusiasts, most of the locomotives and vehicles are reasonably easy to identify. Well worth a visit particularly for a good family day out.

Staying in Oswestry for a couple of days, came across the Oswestry Stone Cross & Fountain in the heart of town. A historic meeting place - pretty cross & Tudor building. Well worth stopping by to admire and explore watching the world go by.

Wandered the streets to find the castle and then climbed the path to the top of the motte and Bailey castle with great views all round
