Had an amazing time during the 3 hours lampworking workshop and managed to create lots of amazingly beautiful glass beads under Jo's watchful eye. She was a calm teacher happy to explain as much of the science behind the art as you want her to and also happy for you to creatively explore making glass beads. Her space is calming and full of inspiration and a beautiful dog! Will definitely be returning to have another go!

Currently closed within government guidelines. A subterranean adventure awaits at the Margate Caves. The Caves have a varied past; from chalk mine to rich mans folly and Victorian tourist attraction. What will you discover at the Caves?
We really loved this place. It’s a quirky little hidey hole in every sense. It’s a pleasant way to while away a few hours. It’s not too difficult to get around and the history behind it is very interesting. Afterwards it’s well worth a sit down in the cafe for a coffee and amazing cakes. There are other very tasty food items but the cakes are fantastic.

We drove 2 hours to get here. It might seem like a fool's errand but we were determined to see where Christianity was brought to England by St Augustine who converted King (St) Ethelbert under the oak tree - now the Anglo Saxon cross monument - where his conversion was recorded by St Bede in 596 AD. Christianity came to England much earlier - the oldest Roman Catholic church is in Colchester, Essex (circa 350 AD). But this monument honours the bravery and determination of St Augustine who was called here by Pope Gregory the Great. \
