Booked a table for six for an 85th birthday party. Iâd previously called in personally to ask if they could dress the table with a few balloon etc, and frankly they just didnt bother. It was very dissapointing. The food was great, the prices for drinks are beyond a joke

Spent the evening with my other half at Ask Italian in Taunton and had an exceptional meal, fantastic quality and reasonable price. For a Monday evening, the restaurant was very busy, so it would appear the word has got around. We will return here again soon.

As part of a family party weekend 15 of us, including three infants, descended on the Royal Oak for Sunday Lunch (we had forewarned them!). The standard of service would put many five star hotels to shame and nobody had any complaints of the food or drink. The Yorkshire puds and gravy lived up to expectation and the desserts were brilliant. The bill was a pleasant surprise too.

We booked last minute on the basis of Trip Advisor reviews. We had to take an early booking as they were fully booked but that suited us anyway. The staff were extremely attentive and informative. Nothing was too much trouble, children were welcome too. Even early on Saturday evening there were plenty of tables being used. The food was absolutely delicious and it is all cooked to order. If you want authentic Italian cuisine then try here. Not much to look at from the outside, and inside is more in typical cafe style but when the service and food is 5* that really doesn't matter.
