Their pizzas are excellent. The crust is good and baked just as it should be. They're not just a pizza joint as they also have pasta, and some less common Sicilian specialties. When it comes to desert, they make good cannoli but the tiramisu is a hit-and-miss despite following the traditional recipe. I've never been disappointed with a main.I'd recommend a takeout or delivery, because the service is so bad that it's borderline laughable, and it's been that way for a long time. The family that runs and operates the business is nice, but their waiters are mostly idiotic kids with clearly no experience or interest for the service industry.

We have had great experiences at Riverside dining as a couple or with friends or with grandchildren. The service is good and the pizza is great. I reccomend going early because they are often crowded.

Romano Mercato Italiano Trattoria & Pizzeria is located one block north of Main St. in downtown St. Charles. We met some friends there and were able to sit outside and really enjoyed the location, which has a multitude of other restaurants of varied cuisines. We ordered and shared a panzerotti and found it to be very tasty There were two things that we found. The first was that we both felt that Romano Mercato Italiano is still trying to find its stride. Is it more of a deli, a casual restaurant, or a slightly upscale restaurant? The second thing we would suggest is to call and verify the hours. On different websites, there are varied hours, so call first, just to be sure. Otherwise, good Italian food at a reasonable price.

We were visiting some friends in the area and were told to go to Salerno"s for pizza.Everyone raves about the pizza so we ordered a sausage, ham, and black olive pizza. The pizza toppings were good but the crust was terrible! You had to cut the pizza crust with a steak knife into smaller pieces just so you could eat it! The crust was so tough you couldn't take a bite out of it!Maybe we just got a bad pizza but I wouldn't order another one!

My brother and his wife went to this restaurant last Friday and seemed pretty impressed, so we went Saturday night..around 6:00. When we went in, we were the only people waiting to be seated, then two couples came in within a couple of minutes after we did. The Host or Manager immediately plucked couple #3 out of the wait line and seated them...Then he came back a few minutes later and motioned us to follow him...never spoke a word....no Welcome or Nice to See You...nothing...Maybe I could have understood this if they were seriously slammed, but they weren't., there were plenty of empty tables...Our server, a very nice girl named Tiffany, immediately took our drink orders and then came back in a while to ask if we wanted appetizers..Please understand, we had no problem with the service and the pizza was fine. We have another place we like better, but everybody has a favorite go-to place for pizza....Our entire experience was colored by our less than hospitable start....Décor wise, this is an attractive restaurant...and it was pleasantly cool on a warm August night....It appears they do a big pick-up and delivery business....I'm not sure we'd go back....

With an even larger group, our experience was much better than the previous reviewer. The service was friendly and obliging and the pizzas, although relatively few alternatives, were uniformly very good. Appetizers, too. The restaurant has a modern, big city vibe, which complements the more traditional feel of other places nearby.

Gia Mia was our lunch time visit to celebrate a birthday. It was very busy at 1:00 PM so we were glad for our reservation. Interior design was welcoming and the wait staff was friendly. Their pizza was tasty and seemed authentic. The steak salad was presented well and good. The prices, however, are a little high for what you receive..

My husband and I were on a legit date night and ate at Riganatos. The food was excellent! Highlights of our cuisine included the calamari with Banana peppers and olive oiland giant ricotta stuffed meatballs. The entire place is super clean you can even see into the kitchen where everyone seems happy and the place is buzzing. The front of the house staff is truly top notch. Clearly they have trained their staff well and the people who work there are proud of what they do- and they should be. Go eat here.
