Positives: convenient location, value prices, salad barNegatives: spongy crust, everything tastes the sameIn a sense, Mazzio's is "Oklahoma's pizza house". Begun in Tulsa in 1961, the chain now has stores across Oklahoma and in eight other states.Although it's a college town, Norman has relatively few pizza parlors. This store is our "go to" location for pizza in that community.Location and Parking:Mazzio's at Brookhaven Village differs from most of their other restaurants. Situated on the north end of an upscale retail/office complex, this restaurant is easy to see from the busy intersection of Robinson and 36th Avenue NW. Parking is limited near the entrance. Some spaces are provided on the north side of the store. You can also park along the east side of the building. If those spots are full, common parking is provided further out.Inside the Restaurant:The dining area is well arranged, but doesn't seem to be as large as other Mazzio's stores. Walls are decorated with scenes reflecting the University of Oklahoma.Value-priced meals and coupons attract large groups, particularly during traditional meal times. Employees are often slow to clear tables after groups leave. However, if you arrive "before the rush", or come during off-peak hours, you will probably find plenty of clean places to sit.Menu:Mazzio's stores offer a variety of value-based "Pricebuster" pizzas, a line of "Mastercraft" (artisan) pizzas, plus Calzone Rings, breadsticks, sandwiches, pastas, and appetizers. They are one of the few chains that still offers a full salad bar.Food...the Bad News:We've eaten at Mazzio's (and their predecessor, Ken's Pizza) over 45 years, and have noticed an overall decline in food taste across the chain. Items made with their dough have a certain "blah" sameness, and toppings don't have a distinctive flavor. Family members ranging from 19 to 55 have commented on the difference compared with a few years ago.At this particular store, we've noticed the crust is never prepared quite right. When cooked correctly, thin-crust pizza is crisp but is not tough. At this store, thin-crust pizza is tough and a little chewy. Original crust pizzas are also tough...and very chewy. Price doesn't seem to make a difference. Value-based "Pricebuster" pizzas and more expensive specialty pizzas all suffer from blah taste and tough, blase' crust. Some Good Food News:The salad bar, however, is a bright spot. It's usually clean and well-stocked with fresh greens, tomatoes, eggs, diced ham, and a number of other condiments. Several popular dressings are available, along with bacon bits, sunflower seeds, and other toppings. Also...This location was one of the first in our area to install a Coke "Freestyle" machine that offers 127 flavors. It's a popular attraction for many, including our family. The Bottom Line:This store is not too bad, not too good...but unlike Goldilocks, it's not "just right". In general Mazzio's is a good place to feed a large group or have a nice salad, but if you're looking for distinctive pizza and pasta, I'd recommend you look elsewhere.Final note: We have a lot of good memories of Ken's/Mazzio's. They were never "New Jersey" style pizza...I don't think they intended to be...but they were a flag-bearer for a type of "mid-American" food. Hopefully, they'll assess their position, correct problems (particularly with the crust) and move toward the "head of the pack" where they once were.

We dined here last Saturday as a group of 8. The pizzas, cheesy bread, pasta, and fried mushrooms were all delicious. The large tables were the perfect size for our group. We had the sweetest waitress and she was very accommodating in finding the channel for the baseball game we wanted to watch. Look forward to returning if in Norman again.Thank you very much for letting us know about your visit! We sincerely hope you and your family will be back again soon!

It's about the RIGHT ingredients, starting with the dough, which we make fresh for you every day, throughout the day. It doesn't stop there. We make our all-natural, preservative free (and naturally fat free) Tuscan Marinara and Spicy Marinara in house ev

This pizza place has several locations, we like the west Lindsey store. We often call in the order and pick it up. They make very nice pizzas for a very reasonable price.

Oh my word I'm in heaven as I have struggled for years trying to find good Italian food here in Oklahoma after leaving California. Everything is fresh and homemade which you can taste the difference. I love the manicotti w/pink sauce and my husband loves the lasagna, but he always orders a couple of meatballs as well. We are fully in love with their cheese bread, yes it is thicker then normal focaccia bread, but I think it's better this way, the taste is just sooo good, but be careful as you can fill up on this before your meal. The staff is always so very nice and our waiters have always been excellent especially Justin. They have the spring menu out now so the next time we visit I'm planning to try the 4 cheese Ravioli. When it comes to cost they are so very reasonable, I was actually expecting things to cost more with how fresh everything is and the portion size that one receives. This is for sure a place to eat where you just cannot go wrong. My only negative is that they're closed on Sunday's, but everyone needs some down time, lol.

Their pizza is fantastic as is their lemonade pie. My only complaint is that you cannot substitute a small salad as a side when ordering a sandwich. That would have made me much happier as I was at the time not eating fried food nor dairy and the only side offered was fried.
Fastest pizza place I know; quick meal & they save your last order. It's next to the liquor store so if you're throwing a party you have a two in one stop
I don't know why anyone goes back to this place. The "pizza" isn't edible and the service is lackluster. This town really needs a good pizza/Italian restaurant.
