Booked here for an overnight stay before we caught the ferry back to Plymouth. The location is fairly convenient to the port but was let down due to the constant banging of doors even to the point where it sounded like our bedroom door was being pushed. Think this is down to the air vacuum throughout the building. Also, one of our pillows was so poor that the fabric inside had split in two!!! Some additional pillows would be a great help to.

Caravan Cinema is a wink to the contemporary spanish movie makers. Our little new age retro design vintage pension was opened on July 7th 2014, with five rooms, special confortable maitresses, great showers, natural ammenities and design furniture and lamps from the 60's, 70's & 80's. The hotel is in the heart of the old town, surrounded by shops, bares, restaurants, theaters and monuments. Guggenheim museum is 20 minutes walk away from the hotel and all the main touristic attractions are very closed to the hotel. Familiar athomosphere. Feel like home during your stay in Bilbao Caravan Cinema
If you want a no-fuss stay in the old town area of Bilbao, then I would recommend Caravan Cinema. The "pension" is located minutes from Casco Viejo Metro station and a few footsteps from plaza nueva. Caravan Cinema does not offer 24-hour conciege service, but there is regular email contact before arrival and contact details were given during our stay. Our plane was delayed by nearly two hours but we kept the hotel updated about our estimated time of arrival and was greeted warmly in the reception area when we finally arrived. Despite the cental locality, the hotel was very quiet and we didn't hear any noise from the streets at all. We reserved a standard room and all the basics were covered. The room was very clean, had a walk-in shower, fluffy towels, complimentary toiletories, air con unit, safe, storage area, desk and a nespesso coffee machine. Our room was cleaned very day. There was a very handy water dispenser, useful for filling up the Nespresso machine. Posters of Fellini movies was a great touch and added to the character and charm of the hotel. Because of the hotel's central locality, it was convenient to take a break from siteseeing and sneak in a siesta. The hotel is just 15 minutes from the Guggenheim museum, 25 minutes from the Funicular, 5 minutes from the Tourne bike hire store, 5 minutes from the Tourism office and department store, and @10 minutes away from the Ribera food market.

New charming thematic rooms with private bathroom and heating in the old town of the city close to Plaza Nueva and Cathedral of Santiago
had a very good stay. Although we only stopped for one night and arrived rather early, we were looked after likely regulars. The room was ready and very clean. We had lots of space. If you need a simple but affordable room right in the centre, then this is a good choice.

Limpio y barato. Segundo piso.

Stayed for five nights. Rooms are simple and rather thin-walled, but clean and spacious enough. Staff is friendly, but speaks very little English. The location itself is not stellar as there is very little to do around the area. However, the hotel is literally 20 meters in front of the Metro station which a direct connection (10-15 minutes ride) to Bilbao. Hence, it is actually a good base to explore Bilbao from. Overall, Pension Zeus offers fair value for money and I would stay there again.

They canceled my reservation two days before my arrival because of errors in the payement, could have contacted me and looked for a resolution but they DID NOT do that. Definetly not a reliable hostal.

Stayed here for 1 night. Check out time was 11.30, due to a miscommunication they aggresively kicked us out at 11.40. Quite sour end to our stay, which has a perfect location. Only thing is the glass collection is around the corners, sounds as if it is next to your head when you're sleeping; Bring ear plugs!

Closely together of the suspension bridge, patrimony of the humanity. Marine stroll with a view to Abra.A 350 mts of the playita of sands not far from other beaches. To 25 minutes in meter of Bilbao, Guggenheim, Bilbao Exhibition Center BEC.Feria of samples. Zone with cafeterias, restaurants, bars with pintxos… etc.
Well situated amongst cafes, resteraunts and an interesting area. However, no parking (the underground public car park was about €22 and if you arrive late the streets are full) the receptionist who met us at night was clueless (regarding parking and breakfast) and the rooms seem to be scattered about in apartments managed from a central desk. The communal area stank of cigarettes, though thankfully our room didn't. The walls are paper thin and on our second night the man next door was talking on the phone and watching telly for ages and when he did finally fall asleep he snored!! The decor is tired and the bathroom was stained and looked a bit grubby. If you book breakfast you have to collect a ticket that is then handed over in a local cafe, which was good. The lady receptionist was helpful during the day.
