nice peaceful spot (usually),worth the walk from main part of xlendi. Takes 15+ mins to walk round the bay, over the bridge and up the slope. dodge the bees and the sudden rise in temperature to reach the tower. Down the side of it down to the lovely smooth rock area, very limited shade available, but a couple of easy spots to get into the water, not so easy to get out. Usually very few people down there, so can enjoy some peace and quite, and watch the sea and boats bob past. Last year though, was a succession of noisy jet ski's piling past from Lewis' hire place, which was a touch annoying. Take enough water for the walk there and back, as it will warm you up no end. One my favorite places on the island.

A lovely walk from the Blue Lagoon which we did with our two daughters age 8 and 11. It took about 40 mins to walk (as we had several stops along the way for photos) and it was over barren land but not dangerous or unsafe at all. The walk was pleasant with lovely views and we also saw many lizards en route. The tower was open (until 3pm) and we enjoyed our visit which was very informative with lots to read and the views from the top of the tower were great. Definitely worth the walk and a break from the crowds at the Blue Lagoon. Only 2euros per adult and children free!!

The Dwejra Tower was built in 1652 and is one of the Lascaris Towers. Originally, the intention behind its construction was for it to act as a watchtower and guard the surrounding areas from oncoming enemies, most especially pirate landings. In 1999, renovation was completed by Din l-Art Helwa and it is now open for the public.
The tower is another off the coastal defences built around Malta and Gozo. Unfortunately we didn't have time to go in but the views are stunning and must he pretty spectacular after climbing the tower

Malta is so covered with old buildings and ruins that they are almost taken for granted! This sentery tower is a nice landmark along a beautiful waterfront walk.
