We had a fantastic two hour ride which took us through vineyards and incredible volcanic cliffs down to the beach where we rode along the edge of the shore. Our guide Yana could not have been more friendly and informative about horses and the local area. She also took some great photos and videos to help us remember the experience. My daughter and I had a great time. Cheers, Yana!

Butterflies valley. Rhodes. Great fun if you can make it up. Beware there are lots of steps and tricky paths to traverse. Only go here if your able bodied, you can visit the museum and cafe at the bottom. Toilets at most levels which cost €0.50. Clean and tidy too. Places to buy refreshments at most levels. Keep your tickets or you won’t be able to get through the other gates at different levels. My wife is into her butterfly’s and wanted to go here. We were slightly out of season, by about a month, and saw minimum butterflies. But loved the walk and seeking of the odd few that were visible. A white one even landed on my arm. We were subjected to steps, rickety bridges and tree roots. Which added to the able through what is a scenic valley. We eventually reached the top and had a slush puppy (much needed). We went further up to the monastery which was nice. Our walk back proved very fruitful at finding ‘butterfly crabs’. An odd thing on a butterfly tour. I would think they developed their pattern to ambush their quarry. On the whole a very pleasant meander through a humid woodland walk. Kids would love the sensory aspect and give fun with the overall adventure of the surroundings. Giving a heuristic experience due to the interaction of the landscape and environment. If you are able bodied and fairly fit, get it done. Even tho we saw about 6 butterflies it was still worth the money, you can see they are always modifying it to improve the scenery.

it's a beauty! Actually on a hot day like it was, going there was absolutely fantastic. it has a tunel, that leads to a small lake if you can name it like that. it's beautiful.

Nature Reserve Area - Lounge Cafe. Every year in the summer months, swarms of butterflies come and settle in this small oasis situated on southwest part of the island. Sitting on the leaves or trunks, hundreds of them rest during the day and fly during the night. Panaxia Quadripunctaria is the name of this nocturnal moth that is attracted to this area from June to September. We could say that nature is calling them in this place to find the peace and the energy that is required to migrate back to where they came from. After your walk, you can enjoy a coffee on those hot summer days surrounded by a light breeze. A playground is also an option for our little friends. You are welcome to visit, have a walk & witness this rare phenomenon.
