Mongolia /mɒŋˈɡoʊliə/ ( listen) (Monggol Ulus in Mongolian; Монгол Улс in Mongolian Cyrillic) is a landlocked unitary sovereign state in East Asia. Its area is roughly equivalent with the historical territory of Outer Mongolia, and that term is sometimes used to refer to the current state. It is sandwiched between China to the south and Russia to the north. Mongolia does not share a border with Kazakhstan, although only 37 kilometres (23 mi) separates them.

Hustai National Park

Reviewed By Kai_Wah - Malaysia, null

This national park is a protected area for the Przewalski’s horses that face the threat of extinction. It is approximately 2-3 hours (subject to traffic conditions) drive from Ulaanbaatar city. We reached here in the evening and the weather was cool with fresh air. We spotted many of the wild horses walking around the hillsides. Przewalski’s horses are really very beautiful animals with light brown colour on the flank and yellowish-white on the belly, muzzle and near the horseshoes. We also were able to see some wild deers silhouettes on top of the hill. The sunset at the hillside was mesmerising too! It was a fascinating and unforgettable time! A must especially for animal and nature lovers!

Bogd Khan Uul National Park

Reviewed By hmoy24677 - Doha, Qatar

Beautiful national park with endless hiking trails. It has a creek that runs in the middle that freezes during fall and winter. The entrance of the park has a big parking space and a restaurant (which I never visited since I'm not much into Mongolian food). One downside that there are no toilet facilities for the big demand it has during weekends. Another downside the abandoned structures that remain from an old hotel, these should just be torn down. I don't value this park for its attractions but rather for the hiking trails and the views, which are lovely.
