Point d'Esny looks amazing with crystal clear water and one of the whitest sandy beaches I've seen on Mauritius. It is great to spend a couple of hours here. There are, however, no facilities and for food it's a good idea to go to the busier Blue Bay. The entrance is quite hard to find, there is a small path in between two villas on the coastal road from Mahebourg to Blue Bay. There is a sign that says "Pedestrian Access to the Beach". After like 150m or so you will find yourself on this tropical beach. It is not a very hidden gem anymore, you will find yourself with other people, but it is still beautiful.

This is a must. Book this the minute you arrive. Stunningly beautiful island and thatched bungalows for you to relax at. Turquoise water for snorkelling and lots of fish to see. Shower and facilities on site. Then after that indulge in the food which was oh so good. BBQ prawn, steak, chicken. Amazing salads and various other dishes. It was all so good. After lunch retire to a lounger and be waited on. Staff are superior in service here. Boat trip back across the bluest of lagoons.

Lovely, peaceful, so beautiful and came down here a few times during my 2 week holiday this April 2019. One of the days was really amazing watching all the locals enjoying a day here. Children were laughing and enjoying a sack race, looked liked the equivalent of a school sports day. Sadly a huge hotel is now very near to completion and in my view although it will provide jobs to locals it will also take away the tranquility and special leisure days for them too.

The Blue Bay marine park, situated on the South East coast of Mauritius near Mahebourg, is one of the best places to see the beautiful marine life and to go for snorkeling in Mauritius. At the Marine Park, you can decide to see the underwater world onboard the boat through its glass bottom, or to jump into the water for some swimming and snorkeling.

Ferney La Vallée is an eco-touristic site of around 200 hectares of native Mauritian forest. Located in the South East of Mauritius, you can do a 2 hour guided tour on a 3 kilometers circuit with full access to the wealth of the native tropical forest and to splendid views of the island’s south-east coast. - Enjoy an exhibit on the fauna and flora of the valley and on the region’s history. - You can do 4 daily guided tours on reservation between 9:30 till 3:00 - Enjoy a 4x4 ride around the beautiful Valley (by prior booking alone) or a hike up to the top of the Lion Mountain (by prior booking alone). Recommendations: Sports shoes & Mosquito repellent are highly recommended.
We went for a hike through the primary rainforest, it’s a very nice easy hike of 1,5h. Suitable for not experienced hikers. At this time they only do guided tours. You get explanation on different endemic, natural and invasive plant and bird species. At the end you can buy a tree that will be planted on your behalf for 200 rupees. Bring mosquito repellent. Definitely recommend this experience!

If one is a nature lover, then a visit to this splendid place is a must. The walk n the waterfall set in nature offers a serene atmosphere. Don't be surprised by the monkeys found around...they seem to enjoy the company of visitors????
