The restaurant has three distinct menu sections, Middle-Eastern, far eastern and Indian. We ordered from the Indian menu and the food was excellent. The litmus test of this kind of food is the rice, if they can do that properly the rest is usually good. This was plump, but not overcooked basmati rice, each grain separate. The lamb korma and lamb biryani my daughter and I shared were just as good as the rice.My friend had a burger. I feel that the chips are the crucial point here. These were hand cut, and properly fried. Not a frozen chip to be seen. The burger was great.Service was fast. The only, possible, drawback (and this is really a matter of taste) is the fast food setting. Self service from a long counter, bare, tile topped tables. Nothing shoddy by any means, but some might be looking for a more elegant place to eat.

About Us Welcome to JS Restaurant JS is the oldest kosher restaurant in Manchester, our reputation for quality food and good service has grown and grown over the years from our humble beginnings in 1956 to a restaurant which can now cater for over 150 din
This place had a makeover a year or so ago, following a fire, and it looks only slightly different now. Iâm not sure that the changes are for the better, as the benches and chairs make it look more like a cafe (as opposed to a restaurant) now. The menu has also changed quite a bit - itâs more restricted now, and it has more of a Middle eastern feel than a traditional kosher feel. In other respects, though, itâs still the same: you still get service that floats between unfussy (on the edge of surly) and helpful, and the waitresses were particularly good at advising my son on the kidsâ portions and helping him to decide whether to order from the kidsâ menu or from the adultsâ (and offering to adapt the latter to suit him). The best bit, as ever, was the food, with large portions as usual: good, hot chicken soup (although a bit too salty), and good teriyaki chicken (with the customary excellent chips); the lamb was good too (a huge portion), and my son was very happy with both his burger and his hot dog. The desserts were a bit disappointing, with the description of the chocolate explosion somewhat over-selling the rich, distinctly unchocolately product that arrived. The least impressive bit was that there wasnât a lock on the gentsâ loo - with only one male loo facility (no urinals), it really isnât good enough to expect occupants to sit (or stand) there knowing that some unwitting other customer might walk in at any time. This restaurant of course corners the market, but it wouldnât take much to convert it from being a decent place to a very good place. As it is, thereâs a just a bit too much of taking the clientele for granted for me to be truly evangelical about it.

We have just had a family birthday dinner here at Remal tonight and have loved it. We all enjoyed every bit of the night. The BYOB is a great idea and we will return for that reason also!We had a good selection of dishes between the 6 of us and everyone was happy with their choices. The staff are very attentive and polite. See you again soon, youâre my favourite Prestwich eaterie!

Authentic Turkish & Middle Eastern Cuisine Serving All Day Lunch & Dinner
Vegan review: Great location, great service, lovely staff. Vegan options not marked on the menu and wasnât very forthcoming with options when I asked what I could have, as he said everything in Turkey has meat in and they only do vegetarian dishes as theyâre in England. I opted for the imam bayildi which was served with houmous instead of yogurt. Food was tasty, a bit on the pricey side for a Sunday afternoon.
