One of my missions, every time I come out here, is to find real Mexican food. My cousin told me about this place after I posted taco shop food pics from San Diego (she lived there at one point and was jealous). We were staying out in Haleiwa and since we needed to go to Mililani, we decided to stop here...and we're so glad we did! Me: Who's from California? She: We're from L.A.Me: We're from San DiegoThey have a good selection of food choices. The partner ordered a California burrito...a person from California in Hawaii eating a California burrito...LOL! I opted for the Asada Fries...which is a staple in San Diego and a good way to put them to the test...and they passed! This place is legit! Tender carne asada over crispy fries and tasty guacamole! We also got some complimentary chips and salsa, which were both made in house.I know it's a bit of a drive, but if you are seriously craving that SoCal Mexican taco stand fix, this is the place to go! This is a food truck with a small sitting area in back. Please don't come here expecting some sit down restaurant. SS is very down to earth!Mucho gracias mi nuevo amigos!

The Taco Truck HI is a food truck (not a restaurant), but their food is outstanding. We had been hearing rave reviews from others, but only recently tried it. My husband and I had the shrimp burrito and vegetarian burrito. They were so tasty and huge! We actually split the burritos, one for lunch and one for dinner. The truck is hard to find if you're not familiar with the area. It's located in Mililani Tech Park across Spectrum Cable. We first attempted to go there on a Monday, but found out that is their day off. We went back on Thursday, and it was well worth the effort. I believe they are there from Tues-Sat from 11-2.

I had dinner at the Surf n Salsa my first night in Haleiwa after browsing the food truck options and am so glad we chose this place! The staff were super friendly, the food did take a while because they make it from scratch, but it was worth the wait. I loved the outdoor dining area in the back where you could watch chickens and roosters run around, and see colorful birds flying through the trees. I got the chimichanga which was incredible, and my boyfriend got the Surf n Turf burrito which I think he enjoyed because he kept asking if we could go back! Prices were good for Oahu and I would definitely eat there again!

I loved this place! I stayed in Hawaii for 2 weeks and came here twice! The food and service was excellent both times. The highlight of my visit were the frozen dragonfruit margaritas, SO GOOD! If you like Mexican and a fun environment definitely give this place a try! They also have a nice outdoor seating area which was really nice.

This is a great place, worth the wait. We had the burrito trio and the three enchiladas. Both were excellent and reasonably priced. Just the right amount of heat. The chicken and pork enchiladas were excellent. The menu is extensive, from huevos, to tacos, to tortas, and burrito and enchiladas plates. Only on street parking and there's only six tables, so the wait can be extensive. There were several phone orders while we were there. Enjoy excellent Mexican food in Wahiawa town.
