This by far has the best chili relleno I’ve had. A nice large passilla chili with just the right amount of cheese. Not overly breaded, awesome, with a nice tomato sauce. My go to place for Mexican food in Solana Beach

I had the steak burrito and I usually have a very large appetite but the burrito as so large I couldn't finish it. It was also loaded with steak and avocado. Very enjoyable and was able to sit outside

Don Chuy Restaurant

Decided to try this place in spite of some bad reviews. Drove up and it didn't look so great but we figured what the heck. Glad we went in. We sat outside. It's not fancy but nice atmosphere. The food was great and really plentiful. I only ate half my dinner. My husband ate all of his but wished he hadn't because he was too stuffed. We come to San Diego every year on vacation and will add this place to our "have to" eat at places.

En Fuego Cantina & Grill

Interesting semi-open air restaurant. Probably should not have visited on a rainy day since it is not entirely enclosed, but overhead heaters helped. Would be great in the summer, though. Food was good, but nothing really special. My friend had the chicken tortilla soup which she said was very good. I had a carne asana burrito which was fine - did not come with any sides, which I would normally expect. Perhaps we just didn't order a house specialty but didn't feel the food was worth making a special trip for, especially because the parking can be a problem.

One of my favorite restaurants for decades. I always take out of town guests to dine here and they often want to a repeat visit before they leave. The chips are addicting and the best I have had. Salsa is amazing. Love the spicy carrots. All their dishes are wonderful. I like the chicken burrito and carne asada burrito. I almost always have left overs because the portions are generous. Great area to go for a walk after dinner or lunch.

Fidel's

I joined a couple colleagues at Fidel’s for dinner. It is a large multilevel restaurant with traditional Mexican fare. I was disappointed that they didn’t have any mole dishes, so I ordered the Carnitas instead. They were very good and served with flour (or corn) tortillas, chips and pinto beans. I also had the std margarita served in a short glass tumbler. The margarita was acceptable but not exceptional. Prices are high average. I recommend Fidel’s although I will try other places before returning, with so many Mexican options around.

We’ve been going to Tony’s for 24 years and our friends have been going for 40!!It’s a family-owned, family-run business with very authentic Mexican food in a friendly, family oriented environment.I love their carne asada, best ever, but this time I ordered the anniversary plate with a mini tamale, mini taco, mini chile relleno, and mini enchilada. A bit of everything to celebrate their ..... 60 years in business (I think it’s 60!!)My husband selected a combination of beef Colorado and carnitas.Often there will be mariachis singing table to table.Indoor and outdoor seating are both available. There is a wonderful area of birds that our kids used to love to watch, just off the bar.Plenty of parking, right by the restaurant and across the street.
