This is the laziest and slowest staff in Mebane. Have complained so many times. Always falls on def ears. God bless anyone who goes through this drive through. In case you are wondering I hardly give a bad review on here. With this place it's always the staff and HQ could careless. I went from going to this place once a week to now once in thee to four months. I would go a few exits up to get good service and employees who at least act like they care. Just on a quick note. They gave us the wrong food and it took four months to get a refund.
The staff is very friendly and interested in you as they know they have to overcome the other 2 Mexican restaurants that are established already. There menu is better and the food was better to us also. Try it - You will not be disappointed !
Many may remember The Colorado Burrito being in a log cabin in the Daniel Boone Village in Hillsborough. It is no longer there as the owners of the land have huge development plans for that part of Hillsborough thus the owner, Jesus Sanchez, moved to a stretch of US-70 that is a couple miles east of the Mebane town limits. My wife and I thought that since The Colorado Burrito had been in business five years, it had to be good. Bad restaurants do not last long. We suggested dinner her for our good friends thus the four of us made the short trip to the new location of this Mexican restaurant. The two of us are embarrassed that we suggested The Colorado Burrito.Upon entering the drab surroundings, the disinterested help did little to make us feel welcomed. We had to prompt the very young waitress to give us chips and sauce. We have been to many Mexican restaurants in various parts of the United States, and the sauce here has to be some of the worst ever. It was very mild, and it was basically liquid. There was no evidence of anything fresh in it.The four of us had four different meals on Styrofoam plates. There is no need to state what each one of us had, but we do need to tell you that each of our meals had a lot of filler. Instead of meats and beans being a huge part of the meal, rice was used to cut costs and make volume. Rice is not usually one of the ingredients in the meals we ordered. Needless to say, we felt cheated.Service was slow at best. We had to constantly ask our waitress to refresh our drinks. It was obvious that she did not want to be there, and we were feeling the same way with her attitude and service. This place gets two stars out of the kindness of our hearts. But! There is no doubt that none of us will be returning to this restaurant that is passing itself off as a Mexican restaurant. We will have to drive further to get quality Mexican fare with good service.

My granddaughter and I enjoyed an excellent meal at La Cocina in Mebane, NC. Since she only had an hour lunch break, she recommended LaCocina (Spanish for The Kitchen). Our taco chips, salsa, and drinks were brought to our booth without any wait. Next, our orders were brought Muy Pronto! Jane H.

This place smelled so good when we walked in the door. There was only one other table with people at the time we were there and I'm assuming they were locals. All the servers seemed to be spending their time sitting at the table with them and talking and laughing. When our server finally noticed us and came to take our order, I explained how I love the taste of bottom self tequila and asked for a margarita made with that. When the margarita arrived I could tell from the first taste that it wasn't bottom shelf. When I flagged here down to ask about it she said they have a premixed margarita machine with top shelf tequila. They did have a bottom shelf so I order a shot of it to mix into my drink and it was much better. What I don't understand is since I asked for a bottom shelf why didn't the bartender just make me one from scratch? Maybe it was because the pre-made mix was $10.00 and the bottom shelf would have been much cheaper. They could have at least told me it was premixed in a machine.I ordered a taco salad and it had very little lettuce in it. It tasted okay but nothing to write home about. My husband had the burrito and enchilada plate which I tasted and it was good. After he shared some of his rice and refried beans with me to add to my salad, it was good. When we were ready to leave our server was sitting at a table with a new group that had come in and we had to flag her down to get our check. I felt like they let us down service-wise, especially by not telling us about the margarita machine.

This restaurant was a very nice place to go and eat. The food was delicious and a very good amount of food for the price that you pay. The staff was very polite and helpful with the order if you had any questions about what you wanted to know about the food. Great service and atmosphere in the restaurant while we were eating, will definitely recommend this restaurant and will definitely go back to eat.

This place was really good and the street tacos were amazing. The carne asada tacos were so juicy and flavorful. You get chips and salsa as a starter when you get seated and the salsa was really fresh. The queso was also really good. I really loved the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant, it was very vibrant and colorful with lots of different artwork. This place is definitely a treasure in a small town and will definitely visit again next time I'm in the area.
