This place is really a hidden gem in Fredericksburg. When we arrived we were immediately greeted and seated. Our server quickly appeared and took our drink order and when she returned we were ready to order. Even though we had a couple of special request our food arrived just as we ordered. It was served hot and was so delicious. Our server tended to us without being intrusive, and saw to it that we had a wonderful meal and an enjoyable visit. We absolutely loved the food and the service was great. I would high recommend El Jimador Azteca to anyone who is looking for an outstanding restaurant in the Fredericksburg Area.

We eat here probably two times a month. Food is always tasty, hot, and served very quickly. They always keep your soda filled without asking. Do to my wife's medical problem last time I had to get it to go and they even went as far as including the chips and salsa that you get when you dine in. First time I got the grand nachos and they were great.

The restaurant is tiny.... but the food speaks volumes. When I first moved to Fredericksburg I stopped in at the recommendation of my realtor. She was not wrong in her recommendation at all. The chips and salsa are always fresh. I always get either the chicken burrito or the chicken tacos. The chicken tacos come two to an order and they are just heavenly. The right amount of zip too them and the squeeze of lime that comes with them just brings the flavors to another level. I highly recommend the black bean soup and the tortilla soup a well..... just awesomeness in a cup or bowl. They close early on Sunday's (I wish they'd stay open a bit later during the summer) and are closed on Mondays. But if you have a craving for great Mexican food... head to The Soup & Taco you will not be disappointed. Your wallet will thank you too. Compared to some of the other restaurants in Fredericksburg, they have maintained pretty reasonable prices. I'd go to Soup & Taco 100% over Chipotle any day.

Large enough to deal with crowds and well staffed, but the food was not exceptional. Miffed that they charged extra for extra chips and salsa.

This Mexican gem is tucked away in a strip mall off busy Jefferson Davis Highway, and easily missed unless you know about it. That's a shame because the food is about as authentic as you'll get in the States. I've eaten all over Mexico and know the difference between the real deal and the cheesy glop served in supposedly authentic Mexican restaurants. The tacos, enchiladas and burritos are all here, and they're delicious, but we always go for the fajitas, carnitas and more innovative dishes. Service is friendly and efficient, and the place is attractive with plenty of easy free parking.

This place offers your usual Mexican menu but it comes with excellent service and a great taste. The rice and beans are amazing; the prices are very cheap; and we were very happy to happen to come on a night where kids ate free (1 free kid per adult). The servers both time were very friendly and quick to fill out drinks; they really take care of you here and you will be happen you came.Pictures are meals from both dinner and the lunch we had along with the checks.Definitely will visit again

The food is fresh but just ok. It's a tiny place that fills up quickly - I think there are maybe half a dozen tables inside. The food isn't particularly memorable, but Soup & Taco is a perfectly acceptable place for a quick bite or to have lunch with a friend.
