Not bad, but pretty much what you would expect walking into any other Taco Bell in America. I think their stuff is too salty myself.

We've driven past this place so many times, and finally decided to try it on our way home from running errands with our kids asking for tacos. This place is amazing - the tables and chairs are elaborately carved and brightly painted. The service was very good and friendly. My husband I both tried micheladas, which are a bloody mary-like beer cocktail: dark Mexican beer with lime juice, tomato juice, spices and a salted rim). These were great, although quite filling. My favorite Mexican restaurant where I grew up (near Detroit) had nopale cactus, which was my favorite dish, but it's hard to find at other restaurants. I was excited to find TWO dishes here which had it, so we each ordered one. My husband got Molcajete El Jalapeno, which was served in a traditional stone bowl (a molcajete) filled with pork, steak, chicken, shrimp, chorizo, Mexican onions and nopal cactus marinated in green sauce, and covered with cheese. It was huge, and came with tortillas, rice, beans and salad.I got Carne Asada, grilled skirt steak with grilled onions, cilantro, cactus (a very large piece!) and jalapenos. It came topped with a huge roasted jalepeno on top and it was SO good. Everything was very flavorful, and beautifully presented. Our kids got kids tacos and they were also quite happy with their meal. We will definitely be back!

We tried Laredo's for supper last night. We arrived a little after 6:00 pm. There were a few full tables but it was mostly empty. Tile floors, wooden tables and benches, lots of color, it looks like a fairly standard Mexican restaurant. The hostess seated us and gave us menus and our waiter was over shortly with chips and salsa. We were in a hurry, (although we didn't state that) and so while he was there we ordered our dinners at the same time we ordered our drinks. The chips were excellent -- hearty and crunchy. The salsa, what there was of it was also very good. We were out of salsa long before we were out of chips. There was no offer to refill the salsa.I'd say it was less than ten minutes before our food arrived. I had ordered combination #11 which was a burrito, an enchilada, and a taco. I don't know why I expected rice and beans, they were not included. It was all OK, but not much better than Taco Bell. My partner ordered the Tamales with shredded pork. This came with rice and beans and the tamales were great. The pork on top was chunky and dripping with flavorful fat. The tamales were also stuffed with shredded pork and had just the right ratio of meat vs masa. The beans were creamy and the rice fluffy. We were halfway through our meal when the drinks arrived. The large house margarita is truly large and probably enough (volume) for two people to drink. However, it is not very strong and was not very remarkable. What was remarkable was the speed of the food delivery and the tamales. Everything else was mediocre at best.

We stopped in after a Target run and enjoyed a burrito and quesadilla. The queso costs extra, but is worth it for the punch of flavor it adds to your dish. This location isn't the best Pancheros we've dined at, but also not the worst. It does the job of filling you up so you can go on with your day.

Stopped with a friend for lunch with a friend. My Quesadilla order was made with ground beef, as my choice of meat, and loaded with cheese. The salsa seemed homemade and was outstanding. Complimentary toritlla chips and salsa arrive pre-order and while waiting for meal. The atmosphere is bright and airy and surroundings are immaculate. There are three or four choices of beer if you want a cerveza with your meal.Service is prompt and friendly. Prices are competitive. Food is exceptional.
Great Tex-Mex food that is prepared fast, fresh, hot and not over priced. There are several location in Madison now.

I arrived a little after 5:30 tonight and it was almost standing room only. There were also a few people waiting for the orders that they called in. Once the young gentleman at the counter had a chance to breathe, he seated me and let me peruse the menu. After digging into the chips and salsa (fresh, with lots of cilantro), I settled on on of their specialties, the Enchiladas de la Abuela, with Mòle sauce, rice and refried beans. The beans were standard, the rice had good flavor, but the Mòle sauce? It was to die for. Just the right amount of chocolate and heat. For me it could have been just a touch warmer, but I enjoyed every bite. That was the best Mòle I've had since about 1993.The young man apologized several time for the delay, but like I told him, I could see that it was packed before I went in. The staff and the food more than made up for it.

Hubby & I were out for our belated 15-Year Anniversary. (We had originally tried a local supper club & will never return & we didn't even EAT there, with their terrible, unorganized, unprofessional service.) However, it made coming to Me & Julio's so much better, for us. It was a more quiet & relaxed environment, the staff - from hostess to server was friendly & helpful. The food was so good; I had the Saturday Night Special Prime Rib & hubby tried their Steak Fajitas. Their drinks were Yummy also, a Strawberry Colada. They even served a bowl of popcorn before you order. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, yummy food & drinks, an outdoor patio for when it's nice outside & a firepit for the colder evenings. Hubby said the bill was a bit high for 2, but still a Wonderful Evening Out. They REALLY turned our terrible night around for us. Thank You Me & Julio Fitchburg!
