On a side street in the Bayside area of Queens, New York sits this little Greek restaurant. Small space, nothing fancy, but flavorful Greek street food. The hummus selection is varied and plentiful. We chose the olive hummus and were pleased with our choice. Plenty of fresh pita bread was brought to the table. The appetizer size spanakopita is enough for a full meal and at only $5.75 a true New York City bargain. The mixed grill platter is filled with beef chicken pork and although the menu indicates it's for two people, plan on taking plenty home. The baklava was good, not great. A bit dry but enjoyable nonetheless. One last comment, service was excellent. Very attentive without hovering? Five stars for service.

Greek seafood restaurant, 718-626-3200
Before I went to this place, I read all the reviews and they were all great for the exception of one which said the kitchen isn't clean because the client went and both times there was hair in the food. I still decided to go and check it out. The service was excellent, but 3 out of the 6 dishes had hair in it. Needless to say I would not go back to it and believe the kitchen isn't clean. Its sad because the place is really cute and service was great and food was good, BUT.....its unacceptable !!!!! I hope the owner reads this review and seriously cleans up and makes the chefs wear something on their head as I am sure is required.

If we have time for only one restaurant in NYC, this is the place! All of the classic dishes are here with huge servings and quick service. The warm galaktoboureko at the end of the meal assures a return trip soon. TIP: They offer valet parking!

The best octopus this side of Greece. The calamari is not bad either. Lemon potatoes as a side are a great compliment. The fried potatoes were not as appreciated.

This restaurant was recommended by friends for a family dinner with the accent on Greek cuisine of course.. We mostly ordered lamb kebabs but found these remarkably tough and without flavour. We were very surprised by the charges for wine when finally receiving the bill - frankly outrageous. In addition as a party of eight we were placed in what one might describe as a corridor. Cross this one off your list !

Mythos authentic Greek Cuisine provides Greek food and dining to the flushing, NY area.
The food here reminds me of the food I have eaten in Greece. It is very authentic tasting and is served by Greeks. Be prepared to eat too much and take a doggy bag home. Although your main course portions will be huge and delicious, do not skimp on the appetizers which are excellent. I could make a meal on just the dips and bread. We tried the salmon, chicken breast, mousaka, and pastitsio and all were excellent. The only complaint I have is their use of canned vegetables. We were there in September when there is a glut of local produce available and yet we were served canned peas. Also they have a pretty limited wine-by-the-glass selection - mostly California. In any event, if you want genuine and delicious Greek food, go here.

Authentic Greek Food.
I started buying my gyro stuff from this place since Gyro King changed ownership. I like there food in general. When you order take (1) sandwich, it can take up to 15 minutes. Pretty surprising when you just of a chicken soulvaki? Eat in is nice, however, they don't give you enough pita bread when you order an entrée. All in all good gyros in general.
