Budget-minded travelers will appreciate Phnom Penh's reasonably priced hotel rooms (several top-rated hotels on TripAdvisor offer rooms around $40/night). Explore the city's temples, palaces, and the remnants of its French colonial history. Just outside the city, the The Killing Fields (Choeung Ek) are a reminder of Cambodia's tragic past-- a somber contrast to the booming city of today.

Our family have lived in Cambodia for 21 years and I'd only recently heard of this place. We needed a spacious place to bring a lot of luggage from the provinces for shipping back to our home country. The staff bent over backwards to cater to us, allowing us to store our luggage in their office and then unpack and re-pack it. Their service was especially helpful as I had travelled without my husband and needed extra help. The bedrooms were clean and spacious. The kitchen, fridge and washing machine were especially important for us and we enjoyed the air con in the heat of dry season. There was clean drinking water(22L) provided for free and replaced when needed. The location was a bit tricky to get in and out of especially during peak hours but otherwise very central to shops and other places we needed to get to. I wish I'd known about this place earlier. I would highly recommend this place to others who travel with children. However, the small pool on the roof top empty and not in use when we stayed here.

Price was great. The front desk didn’t really speak much English, so it was very tough communicating. The hotel gives the impression that it’s super close to the airport. It took almost 15 minutes to get there. Very spartan decor - bed and stand. My room was directly over the front desk and had a wall of windows that didn’t fully close. This made it extremely loud as I could hear everything below. Asked for another room but was told they didn’t have any.

While I stayed here the room cleaners stole a 30 page avidavit and phone numbers from my room. They may have thought they were rubbish as they were hand written or they may have been paid. When I asked where they had put them they conveniently forgot how to speak English. Also when I left there was no one at reception so I just left the keys. Next time I walked past the threatened me with the police because they wanted extra money even tho I was all paid up.

It's about 10 years i go there when i go to Phnom Penh, 1/2 times per year. the price goes up and quality goes down, all is broken, nothing is fixed, all the money of the 64 rooms goes in the owner car, a pretty new coupe Mercedes....but nothing to fix the 15 years old air con which make less fresh than a fan...toilet broken, shower head broken, a cigarette in the shower, a 30 years tv with all the furniture very old and broken also...the wood fixed with tape....and a nice waterfall in the main hall where you park the moto that nobody clean even after few hours it stops leaking...

I had to go to Phnom Penh for 4 night for business meetings and I was only looking for a clean quiet room, so I decided to stay at J'adore Lodge although it had zero reviews and was a bit of a gamble. The hotel is brand new and everything is clean. At the same time, being new, there are some things that are still in need of some improvement. The rooms don't have a minibar which would not be a problem unless you travel with medication that needs to stay cool, like me. They staff were helpful and offered to store my insulin in the kitchen fridge downstairs overnight but I thought it might not be hygienic for them or myself. All rooms come with 80+ channels cable (~25 English channels) and WiFi. The staff don't speak English which made the process of ordering breakfast using sign language a little amusing. Thankfully, the friendly owners are always there to translate and offer help. The hotel is located on Koh Pich (Diamond Island) which is a favorite spot for restaurants, wedding venues and for families with children who want to visit the amusement park. The hotel is right across the river from AEON Mall. The hotel is a bit far from nightlife spots but if you are looking for a quiet hotel, this is definitely the place to visit. As a new hotel, it would be useful keeping the hotel card as most tuk tuk drivers are not yet aware of this hotel.

SADLY...The bad / staff rudeness reviews are TOTALLY ACCURATE Night I checked in...Reception VOLUNTEERED a better room rate...at the end of my 8 day stay the Management REFUSED to honor this - and became very arrogant/ insisting that I WAS LYING !!...little or NO ENGLISH SPOKEN. NO HOT WATER KETTLE/ Bathroom too dirty/ filthy windows...NO SMOKING AND- it took 4 hours waiting to get my PASSPORT back from the Owner.." because you lie, lie lie..".BLEW ME AWAY.. 3 days ago I was recommended to an EXCELLENT Hotel/Guesthouse..much lower Room rates...and Staff speak quite good english too..what a relief..the REAL PHNOM PENH
