House of Peace is a hostel owned by Christian family. It is a unique place to stay in the heart of Bethlehem, in a quiet and friendly neighborhood. The hostel is just a short walk from the Manger Square- Bethlehem’s city center- and the Church of the Nativity- the place where Jesus was born. House of Peace is also just few steps away from the old city of Bethlehem and downtown with local shops and restaurants. At House of Peace hostel you will find clean and specious rooms at a very reasonable prices in a warm family atmosphere. The hostel currently offers accommodation for groups of up to 30 people, and is ideal for all types of travelers: individuals, couples, families with children and groups. Church groups and long-term visitors are also welcome, and for such travelers we offer special rates. House of Peace includes both private rooms and multiple occupancy rooms (dorms) which are suitable for larger groups and for those traveling on a limited budget. There is a free wireless internet access available for guests. The hostel features separated kitchens for guests (fridge, water boiling kettle, microwave, dishes) and each floor of the building features a broad balcony/terrace- perfect for resting and conversing in beautiful rooftop views of Bethlehem. House of Peace is able to accommodate groups seeking space for private worship or conference room facilities with a seating space for approximately 40 people. We also invite you to join us for our Arabic home church service every Tuesday. Bethlehem is located just 10 km (about 7 miles) from Jerusalem, and we can easily be reached by bus, taxi, or a private car. And we are approximately 45-minutes-drive from Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv. Airport shuttle can be arranged upon request. We are cooperating with a Christian tour agency that can help with travel plans for outreach-teams, church groups and youth groups organizing their ticketing, transportation, accommodation and touring in the Holy Land. House of Peace is a wonderful place to stay while touring the Holy Land on holiday or pilgrimage for a short or long term travelers. We look forward to meeting you soon!
I felt welcome and comfortable from the very first minute. Had lovely chats with the family with a lemonade and tea. Dani took me to his favourite Shawarma and Knafeh place and I even joined the family for the church ceremony on Sunday.

We stayed multiple times in Hosh Al Subbar, and we loved every minute! The place is tranquil, unique, safe, and very clean. It's an amazing old building that has been renovated with much taste and is surrounded by calming nature. The owners were very respectful and hospitable. Em Samir was very nice and made sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. There is a mini-market and a nice restaurant close by, and it's a short drive to the amazing old town of Beit Sahour, and the city of Bethlehem. The wifi was fast which allowed me to do some work there, and it was also a great place to just chill.

The ‘Herodion Guesthouse’ in Bethlehem is situated in Al-Attan Street to the south-east of Manger Square. The building is a modern construction that overlooks both Bethlehem and the Muslim town of Bayt Sahur. Very important in Bethlehem is the distance one’s accommodation is from the main pilgrimage sites like the Church of the Nativity, the Chapel of St. Catherine and the Milk Grotto. In this regard the Herodion Guesthouse lies within walking distance; however, I caution that it takes about 10 to 15 minutes at a steady pace to reach Manger Square. If you are relatively fit, or if one wants to stroll casually, then the location is perfect, and we managed well. If you are elderly or physically impaired in some way, then perhaps not. However, a taxi could transport you to your destination within minutes. When we arrived in a hired car, we were met at the entrance and shown to the parking on the lower floor of the building. Entering and exiting the parking is confined and tricky, but if you can navigate the streets of Bethlehem you should manage. We were then escorted and helped with our luggage to our room and most graciously provided with coffee (which is always welcome when travelling). The building has an efficient lift and we had no problem reaching our floor. The passageway was not lit and we had difficulty unlocking our door as a consequence. The room was surprisingly well equipped, was spotlessly clean and had facilities that many guesthouses in Israel and Palestine do not have, namely a small refrigerator in the kitchenette, equipped with a kettle and tea and coffee. You will not believe how important this is to a pilgrim or tourist, especially late at night and early in the morning. Our beds were comfortable and the bedding was more than adequate. Our suite had a small balcony which we appreciated. The bathroom was modern and the shower produced ample hot water. The Wifi provided was more than adequate for our needs. I must state that you can also go up to the top floor of the building at any time where one can enjoy the expansive views and sip on some gratis coffee. Note that like in many locations in Palestine and in Israel, empty allotments and tatty spaces abound where one will see discarded sofas and building material that blight the view. Regardless, one is present to experience Bethlehem in its entirety - beauty spots and warts. The Guesthouse does not provide food, but you can ‘phone in to a local eatery and have it delivered or simply prepare your own in the kitchen located on the top floor. We made use of the local restaurants near Manger Square, but also brought food back where we prepared it in the kitchen. The owner and his son who speak English were very helpful and friendly and generously provided us with pastries in the morning. Yum! Thanks George senior and junior. The assistant that was present on two days did not have a good grasp of English which made for tricky communication and his mannerisms were at the least bizarre. At one point we feared we had offended him, but this might have been cultural. In conclusion – the ‘Herodion Guesthouse’ provided good value for money and we would certainly stay here should we make a return trip to Bethlehem.

I stayed here for two nights while walking the Masar Ibrahim, or the "Path of Abraham." My group of 7 had spent the night in the village above the Jordan valley and the next day we walked into Jericho. The place was clean, friendly, and safe. The operator gave us helpful advice. There is a store nearby. The rooms were clean and the view from the roof was lovely.

Dar Al Majus is located in the heart of Bethlehem, only few steps from the Church of the Nativity and the Grotto where Jesus was born. The property is located in an old building in UNESCO area of Star Street and recently it has been completely renovated in order to allow a comfortable and hospitable stay in a typical environment.
Centrally located, good place for those travellers who want to explore Bethlehem, but don't want to spend a fortune. Very nice and clean place, very close to Church of the Nativity, local shops and restaurants, which are located just round the corner. The staff was very helpful and answered all questions I had. Good value for money. Perfect place for a short stay. Delicious breakfast.

We stayed in the Garden Suits over the new years eve and 1st January. The receptionist Joseph was very nice, welcoming, offered coffee on arrival, the room was spacious with equipped kitchen and a separate room with table and sofa. The heating worked perfectly, that we appreciated most in the cold weather and also nice hot shower. The place was very clean, quiet and breakfast amazing, with choice of both local and international options. I really recommend this place, we had a fantastic time there!

The owner of this Zimmer (or Tzimmer) in Ganei Modiin, just a block from Ramat Modiin/Hashmonaim is a nice guy who, though his English is poor, will be happy to have you stay in one of his units. They have a nice closed in pool that you can use and the units are really made for adults and are therefore pretty quiet. Though parking isn't easy on the street, you can find spots nearby. There is also a shul at the end of the block that has sefard davening and only a 4 minute walk brings you to Glenwood, the large Anglo shul with 4 daily morning minyanim and all kinds of davening and shiurim/daf yomi...
