I'm in room 206 which has a beautiful view....of overflowing rubbish bins in the courtyard outside! There is what sounds like a refrigeration unit in the courtyard that is constantly very loud. I think the staff also use the courtyard for smoking breaks as I'm getting the occasional smell of cigarettes too. If you come here bring earplugs. As it's summer you'll need the windows open and you won't sleep due to the noise from the refrigeration unit in the courtyard. With the windows closed the noise is a lot quieter but you'll still hear it, and you'll also hear staff back and forth early in the day with trolleys and whatever else they are clattering about with. You might also want a sleep mask in this room (and presumably 205 too) as the courtyard has a light brighter than the sun that lights up the room, the blackout curtains don't stand a chance!! Room itself is a basic Travelodge offering. No bath but just a shower with decent pressure. It's a little tired but the carpet seems pretty new and looks like it has had a lick of paint recently. The room is clean and the bed is comfy, it's a shame I couldn't sleep due to the noise. Staff are pleasant enough. Reception isn't manned but you can hear them if they're in the back room. There isn't a buzzer to get their attention but there's a number to call so I used that rather than shout through. The entrance is shared with the Toby Carvery but they are independent of each other. I'm in the area for work and this hotel is convenient for the office, if I was booking again it would only be on the basis of getting a guarantee that I won't be in a room near the noisy courtyard. You will get road noise from the A45 that's just a stones throw away, but that combined with the refrigeration unit was just too much.

Nestling deep within the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside on the boarders of three counties and just North of Banbury. The Plough Inn Boddington is a charming, traditional 18th century thatched coaching inn where a vibrant friendly community thrives. Visit us and you can expect a warm welcome, 5 comfortable bedrooms, cooked breakfast, great food, with a super range of beer, wines and spirits. The Plough is ideally situated for visiting some wonderful places. We're 18 miles from the centre of British motorsport, Silverstone race circuit. Just 1 mile down the road is the tranquillity of Boddington reservoir, famed for it's great fishing & sailing club & 5 miles away is the village of Cropredy where each year the folk & rock festival Fairport Convention is held. We have ample parking and free Wi-Fi throughout the pub. Jane and the team look forward to welcoming soon.
The food and hospitality are exceptional here. Would 100% recommend going. Tables nicely set out so your not all squashed in. Menu had a good variety of dishes and each of the dishes tasted as good as they looked.

This has to be by far the worse place in stayed and I travel a lot ... The toilet leaked excessively, the blinds fell down when I opened them,, the room was disgusting and dirty.. stains on the wall and mattress bedding and pillows,, no where to hang your clothes there was rats running around the decking ... I can go on and on ..for 60per night I expect a clean and comfortable room .. I most definitely won’t be staying again .. I did complain on booking . Com reviews ,, only to get a rude reply claiming I was making it all up so unprofessional.. please don’t spend your money on this dump and that’s being nice??

The three hundred year old 'Star Inn' sits in an idyllic village on the borders of South Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire, ideally located for visiting the many attractions available in the heart of England or simply escaping for a peaceful and relaxing weekend in the country. Believed to be the only knowpub to be visited by the legendary actor John Wayne whilst on tour of nearby Sulgrave Manor, the ancestral home of the first president of the United States George Washington. On a visit to Sulgrave in 1889 the honourable William Taft, Chief Justice of America said, "Sulgrave is a charming little spot only hidden in the loveliness of its seclusion, with the old Star inn by the roadside a relic of bygone days when comforts were plain and ale was plenty." The Star is where people matter and whether you are staying in one of our comfortable en-suite bedrooms, dining in the oak beamed restaurant or just having a drink you will be made to feel welcome
We stayed just one night at The Star on our route north. The pub is characterful, ivy covered frontage and popular with locals. It is frequently used during the Silverstone meetings. We stayed in Arkle, one of the three rooms named after racehorses. A cozy room, with tea and coffee, a decent TV and free wifi (a little temperamental) . The bed is large and very comfortable and the bathroom is a good size with a powerful shower. All in all a pleasant place to stay a night and we had a meal in the evening in the bar. The food is very definitely pub grub, a lot of chips and not a massive choice. I was a little disappointed because there were far too many chips, but others may find this quite a good thing! Friendly atmosphere and staff, we enjoyed our evening in the bar. There are a good selection of wines, local gins alongside beers. In the morning we had a continental breakfast, cereals, croissants, etc. The staff were absent and it's a help yourself affair, quite adequate and we knew in advance we were not having a cooked breakfast. If you prefer cooked you would need to ask if it is available, but I understand it is always a help yourself breakfast. I enjoyed my night at The Star, it's comfortable, clean, friendly and a convenient stop if you are going northward.

Took my money now not returning my emails. Avoid this place. They will not return your money. Booking was a free cancellation yet still took all the money. Been waiting for my money for over three months. AVOID!

The room size was ok, bathroom was abit small though. So, first of all the mattress was terrible I had to turn it over as one could feel the springs, by flipping it over this was marginally better. The walls are not well insulated & you can hear noise from the kitchen & people in the next bedroom. Talking, pulling the bathroom pull cord etc. NO shampoo & conditioner in bathroom, two handwritten bottles one saying hand soap and one shower gel only. Looked cheap! Sink blocked - very slow drain away. The shower area could be cleaner - wasn’t very thoroughly cleaned around the tiles etc. Breakfast is continental in your room DONT except a cooked breakfast here. Finally, the smell from kitchen is very strong & lingers outside the bedroom ! You can’t open the hallway window to get fresh air in. Food in the pub was ok, and the lady serving was friendly enough. The male behind the bar could be more friendlier. WiFi didn’t work in the bedroom also! Don’t recommend to stay here, ONLY eat!

One of those pubs that boast their own "Chef Patron" so you know the food will be good. Strong mix of locals and visitors combining old and young that provides a varied and colourful atmosphere. Dog friendly pub with child friendly garden completes the scene. The real ale shares the pumps with continental largers and ciders with the pipes kept scrupilously clean. Reasonable variety of gins and other spirits sharing space with bottled beers and mixers. The Red Lion is the sort of place you can visit on your own or with friends or family for any occasion.
