City of Perth Library

It’s an interesting building from the outside, centrally located and easy to get to. The interior is just as pleasing. Spacious, airy, light filled and inviting. I often visit to read the wide variety of papers and exchange library books. I wander in intent on a quick visit and a couple of hours later reluctantly leave. A great range of books, magazines and papers located over several floors. I won’t go into detail on what’s available as you can get that from the website- but staff are very helpful. The ground floor coffee shop is good too.

The Irish guy that runs this and works at the library is really friendly and welcoming. Great magazines to borrow and a nice area to sit if just wish to read the latest one there. Heaps of kids books too Computers there are easy to use once a member with printing facilities and includes both PC and Macs

The City of South Perth Library serves many useful functions. The computers are available for use by anyone who wants to use them, including wi-fi. The library has a printer which can be used in conjunction with the computers at a very economical rate, and also as a scanner. The library also has local history collection, and displays, currently items from the Weaver & Lock aerated waters factory, which was sited in Mill Point Road, South Perth for many years. Weaver & Lock was beloved of generations of South Perth children, especially the wooden barrels of ginger beer. The library's collection includes books, DVDs and a wide selection of newspapers. Parking is adequate
