We visit the restaurant. The meals were good. Menucard was only in Latvian language. The place was new. Not eveything was operating. The staff was very gently. 4 maincourses, but the fish was out of order. Very pitty. Good prices and quality.
Very nice restaurant with outdoor terrace (recently opened) and welcoming staff. Some tables inside, suggest to book if you want to sit inside but suggest to choose terrace. There is a hotel, car museum, open-air museum in the territory so you can combine good food with some activities.Prices - average comparing to city's restaurants, for countryside - above average. There is playground for children and small corner inside of restaurant.Food was very good.
Place is very cosy and romantic, staff provides very good service, nothing more to add. However the food is the thing where this place really excels. Soup was my first dish, I chose vegetable soup with pearl barley and meat. When the dish arrived I wasn't so sure that it will be any good, because it was full with different (not my favourite) vegetables. However I should admit that the chef did the job great and it was the best vegetable soup I have ever eaten. Vegetables were crispy, meat juicy and the dish delicious.Second dish I chose was called "Royal pork chop" commonly called a "Bear paw" here in Bauska. Side dish was a collection of different grilled vegetables and mashed potatoes. This all was served with small touches of cranberries and local mushroom souce forming a perfect composition and a very happy client. It's at the same building where Hotel Berzkalni is located, could be hard to find for foreigners but the meal is worth it. Value for money is the best I have seen in whole region. Thanks for this eating experience!
We came with 2 families as stop over on a road to Riga. Waiter told us about waiting time 30-40, we found it too long, but OK. Finally, after 1.5 h after I was trying to find someone from staff to ask about how long pasta and ravioli for kids could be cooked, a man from kitchen (chief/manager) told me to leave a staff area, which was a bit close to reception. He was rude and non friendly. Seems a lack of staff, as one person was doing reception and waiter work, other one was operating as manager and chief. One family from our company got all dishes in 1.5 hour, our family got just ravioli for kid.. fish and duck was left somewhere in kitchen.. After several questions how long should we wait, we got always an answer 10 minutes. Finally, we cancelled our order, asked a bill (also was needed to call 3 times), and left totally disappointed with no food. Worst place ever, not recommended at all. If you are looking for a nice place for lunch/dinner, go to Mazmežotnes Muiža, which is quite close.

I had dinner here with my girlfriend, the waitress spoke English and helped us decide. The portion of food was huge, as someone who likes a lot of food, this was pleasing, it tasted really good too. I can recommend this place, well worth a visit for food.

Tripadvisor reviews helped us to choose this place. Building didn't look promising, howerer interior is kind of interesting and cute. We had national soup, steak and chicken stew. Steak was a big risk considering it's low price (10 Eur), but it was from the highest quality meat and very tasty! Soup and stew was ok too. Totally recommend it!

We were there for a late lunch. The staff was friendly. We ordered 2 soups (pumpkin and seafood), almost cold, quite tasty but nothing special. Pumpkin soup was with hard mozzarella (not the soft kind you can find in Italy) and it was hardly manageable with a spoon. As for the main courses (nobody likes their choice - chicken, pork - apart me. I ordered beef, medium baked, but received it well done. Apart from that, I was satisfied with it.The restaurant was in a quiet place (part of the Rixwell hotel), but not cosy. Apart from us, there were only a couple of really drunk guys who were sitting outside...

An extensive menu with both international and local cuisine. The premises is new, not directly cosy but good for kids.
