We recently read a piece in Ocala Magazine about this little restaurant and while in Ocala yesterday decided to give it a try. We were surprised at how intimate this restaurant is. With only a few tables, it will hold about 20 people, so if you are going to eat in get there early. My wife and I split a Q'bano sandwich and a cup of chicken noodle soup and had two drinks. The bill was $14.74. I would highly recommend. The quality of the food and the items I saw ordered by others made it obvious they had been there before. This even feels like an authentic Cuban environment. We will be back.

I lived for many years on the border of Mexico,so I am picky about Mexican food. This restaurant is quaint located in the back of a wonderful grocery store. They have excellent tamales and they are quite reasonable. The store sells a dessert that has become my NEW all time favorite .... Flan de queso. Flan is a custard with vanilla flavor on a Carmel base. Flan de queso is a flan cheesecake. Or almost. The flavor and texture are amazing. The store and restaurant have all kinds of exotic goodies . It's clean and bright with really friendly people. If you like locally owned places as opposed to chains, you will love this place!

Love the taste of authentic Mexican. Being from Texas, I am picky. We had a burritos, two tacos and a tostado and everything was delicious. Served with rice and beans on the side. Tacos are made with great meat, onions, cilantro and homemade tortillas. The burrito loaded was huge and it was tasty. Not fancy digs but I will go back. So good!

We were just passing through (actually, stopped right around the corner to charge up our electric car), and decided to grab a bite for lunch, What a treat! The place was super busy, but service was brisk and attentive. The food was prepared to perfection and portion sizes were huge, especially considering the value of their lunch specials. This place is highly recommended!

Over the lunch hour on Wednesday, December 12th, I visited Cafe Havana for the first time. I visited a family member that had visited before. I was hesitant about ordering from the buffet type line offerings. However, my lunch mate selected the pulled pork plate. She said it was delicious. Her plate was piled high with pork and rice. I ordered a Cuban sandwich and a side order of fried plantains. Both were very good. I look forward to returning and working my way up the menu. A very good first visit.

Mi Tierra Latina Best of Mexican and Peruvian Cuisine
Traveling home after a trip to Animal Kingdom and stopped at Mi Tiera for lunch. The food is terrific My husband ordered the Mexican steak and raved about his meal. Tender and juicy with lots of grilled veggies. The veggie fajitas were delicious with a ton of perfectly cooked veggies including cauliflower. Another dish we ordered was the spicy shrimp with great seasoning. For dessert we ordered fried ice cream and the best flan I've ever eaten. My family are not fans of flan and they loved it too. Great, attentive wait stafftoo. Be sure to stop in lunch or dinner. This restaurant is a hidden gem.

Just an average place and not worth a return visit. After reading the reviews we were expecting far more. Started out with bland salsa, no flavor, no heat at all, and chips that were way too thick. The sweet tea was sickeningly sweet. I had a steak burrito and my husband had a combo plate which were fine, but nothing to write home about. No margaritas, which I enjoy with Mexican food.
