We were drawn to Umi because we wanted teriyaki and because of the convenient location within walking distance of our hotel. The exterior really draws you in with the interesting front door and beautifully decorated interior. Not only is the food delicious and well prepared but the service is outstanding. Our waiter was very attentive and checked back frequently so we felt like honored guests.During the winter, you may want to request a table towards the rear of the restaurant as it gets quite chilly when the front door opens.

Located right across from SOU, Mihama's offers a simple menu loaded with tasty, healthy items. My wife loves the burgers, which are available with a fantastic gluten-free bun. For me, the fish burgers are the best I've ever tasted anywhere.

Our restaurant serves local and seasonally inspired cuisine. We are the only tasting menu only restaurant in Ashland. We invite you to experience Cascadian Cuisine.
We had diner at Mas which was a fantastic experience. Two great guys who follow their passion and make amazing food. All dishes were special, innovative and really good. We took the 6 course menu (and should have should have taken the 10 course menu...).

This very small restaurant is a gem. The broths and the noodles are made in house and you can tell that they are made with love. There are several different broths from which to choose, but the best, to my mind, is the curry, which is slightly thick, like a gravy. You can choose what protein goes in - dofu, chicken, pork - and what other ingredients you want either along side or on top. There is a short list of beer and, of course, sake. The restaurant is small, as I said, so if you are heading for the theatre, be sure to call for a reservation. At 11 North 1st Street, you are just a few steps to the Festival complex. Highly recommended!

Little Tokyo is a new Sushi restaurant in the heart of downtown Ashland. We are open daily from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
We were delighted with Little Tokyo. They take reservations, including for the outside patio beside the creek. We were greeted enthusiastically, and our waiter was equally energetic and helpful. What a positive experience! The menu includes but is not limited to sushi. We had very good shumai (pork dumplings) and salads. Our friends had cooked dishes, including bibimbap, which they enjoyed. We had two very large special sushi rolls, one included soft shell crab and torched salmon, which was especially good. I had a very reasonable and refreshing dry sake. The setting is beautiful with the creek trickling below and the sun coming through the trees. This is a great choice for Japanese food in Ashland.

Modern Japanese cuisine featuring menu items from sashimi and maki mono rolls to beef sliders and fried chicken to delicious vegan fair. Kobe accommodates most all dietary needs. Located near Ashland creek with lovely outdoor seating and patio heaters. Pl
This is a typical sushi restaurant (that's intended as neither a good nor a bad title). I always found the indoor portion a bit dark, but really like the outside balcony overlooking the creek. This is down a level from the street, but there is an elevator for those who don't like stairs. We eat here often when in Ashland.

In the Gateway District of Ashland.
As a member of a small chain and located in a shopping mall our expectations were not very high. Surprise ! The service was great and the food excellent as well as plentiful. There were 6 of us and we had to use two tables as the table were a little on the small side but the waiter was very cooperative. While it was not cheap eats it was well worth the price.

Umami is perfect for dining before going to the theater. The Elizabethan theater is just steps away. Our service was timely and pleasant. Thank you, Rebecca. The sushi samplers were delicious and portions were generous. Our samplers went well with a glass of chardonnay.
