Anthony's gets it right. Their pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms (anchovies) is foldable! The crust is exactly what you would expect from a NYC pizzeria with the air bubbles with spots of darkened crisp crust. Just the right amount of salt in the dough. Their sauce is simple and to the point (not sweet!) with the right amount of herbs (oregano?). The mozzarella cheese is stringy and not too greasy. This pizza is not Neapolitan, Chicago, or Detroit style pizza; it is NYC style pizza done right.

Let me first start by saying when we lived in the chicago area and Rosati's was our Friday meal so oh was so excited to hear that a rosatis was opening in Mount Dora...that being said after picking up orders 5 times and 5 times the orders being wrong we decided one last time to eat in at the location...big mistake. Order was wrong 3 times in the same evening and food came out cold. Manager was awful and didn't deal with the problem instead she told us she had poor staff right in front of the waitress. After we complained again the manager still didn't get the order right and then she ignored us. One last time to get manager to hear our complaint she came to the table and starting clearing it while not listening to our concerns. Manager was rude and so unprofessional and when I got up and said I would never return she followed me as if to stalk me as I went to tell the waitress that it wasn't her fault alone for the poor service. Manager threw her staff under the bus and it was embarrassing. Never will I go back again. Rosati's really needs to reevaluate the staff at this location because it needs help.

We're local and have always seen that this place is packed when we drive by. Finally tried it an now we know why. Simple, no frills, local place. The staff is friendly and got our orders right. The food is simple, tasty and portions are HUGE! The fettuccine Alfredo came out on a platter! (Hubby and I could've easily split it a d probably still have some left) Garlic knots are excellent and will keep any vampires away! Will have to go back again!

What's all the fuss about this place?! At best the pizza is average, the salad is lousy iceberg lettuce, the beer on tap is Bud and the service is poor. If this was the only option in town then you might think it's better than it is but as someone visiting the area it's pretty weak. I wouldn't bother stopping again.

Just left this place...my wife is German so sometimes she gets a little homesick for some German food so here we are...we had a few German beers which you can pretty much get anywhere now..We ordered the pretzel which we both believe to be microwaved small in size but it was also $2.70...there are several big Bavarian pretzels wholesale now there is no excuse for this one..it was also cold and chewy...my wife had the potato pancakes which were frozen..c'mon it's not that hard to make from scratch..I had the potato soup which did have good flavor but cold...the waitress made the mistake of asking how it was..I told her..she told me I should have said something about the cold soup..I said I shouldn't have had to..she bragged that the 2 cooks were somehow german..I dont think so...even a lazy german wouldn't put food out like that..she also said it's the best German food around..you need to go to Sanford and see how it's done.

Casual fine dining Authentic italian and mediterranean food Full bar Outdoor and indoor seating. Our business is also pet friendly.
Very disappointing to discover the worst cooked 8oz filet I have ever tasted in my life. No one should ever destroy a cut of meat like that. Couldn't even eat it - it was so bad. Tasted like it was pan fried in 10oz of lard with grease dripping out of it, Calamari was so under cooked that it was raw under the breading. Good news was the drinks were strong enough to kill the taste. Our server was VERY sorry and offered to bring other foods but we declined her offer fearing it could get even worst. She worked very hard to take good care of her and the problem was not her fault. The kitchen owns this one. We took good care of our server for her efforts.

Cafe Gianni Italian Restaurant is a must visit if you are anywhere Mount Dora. Chef Gianni, chef owner, does not over complicate his dishes with unnecessary trendy twists on classics; he creates dishes from scratch with high quality ingredients which you can taste with every bite. The Veal Marsala was perfectly cooked with Marsala sauce and mushrooms.Rigatoni Puttanesca with homemade sausage was bursting with flavors; garlic, anchovies and peppers. If you LOVE anchovies, you just order this dish. They do not overpower the dish, they are the perfect balance of flavors. The Linguini Fra-Diavola - mussels & linguini in spicy marinara sauce - my husband said it was the best he has ever had, anywhere, including Italy. Dinner came with unlimited garlic bread, which was difficult to difficult to stop eating because it was so good! Dessert was homemade Tiramisu and Cannolis, excellent presentation and a must to order! Tiramisu is a generous serving enough for several people to share if everyone wants a few bites! The Cannoli and filling are homemade and come 3 mini cannoli to an order. Perfect to share! Service was spot-on with friendly attentive servers. Chef Gianni made the rounds of the dining room checking with diners which was such a nice touch you do not get in chain restaurants or more pretentious dining. For incredible homemade Italian food, reasonably priced, you must try Cafe Gianni. You will NOT leave hungry and you will find yourself wanting to plan your next visit!
