Things to do in Fairfield
For a wine bar, the selection was incredibly limited and decidedly over-priced. The food also left a lot to the imagination. It was empty for lunch and featured terrible elevator "muzak" blaring. In addition, no wi-fi? What, is it 1990? Really, there is nothing to recommend this place. Go to Napa. Its close enough and the industry understands the definition of "wine bar." If you're driving through, just keep driving.

We walked over from the hotel and wanted a quick meal. Unfortunately, they were too busy for the staff. We ordered the rigatoni with sausage which was blah. This place should be a last resort for food. Definitely not worth it.

After tours of the Anheuser-Busch (Budweiser) and the Jelly Belly factories, checking into the Comfort Inn, we went out for very late lunch / early dinner around 4:45 PM. As expected when we got there, it was empty for the time of day.Our party of 5 ordered the following:⢠½ dozen sweet Thai chilli chicken wings -$5.49⢠½ dozen Buffalo wings - $5.49⢠Green bean crispers - $6.49⢠California veggie pizza â $15.99⢠Buffalo chicken wing pizza - $15.99⢠Chicken bacon ranch pizza - $7.99 individual sizeEverything was okay; nothing to rave about except the green bean crispers. The lightly onion battered deep fried green beans served with ranch dressing were really good. The food arrived in an acceptable time frame. There was no service to speak of; as you order the food from the overhead menu board, pay for it and then the food is brought to your tableI would rate the food taste and portion size as average. The food rates a 3 out of 5; it did the job with no complaints.Notes and Tips:⢠The restaurant is only ¼ mile from the Comfort Inn. ⢠There is another dining area with a pool table⢠Free wifi⢠There is sitting for probably 60+ persons⢠All you can eat pizza with salad bar for lunch for $6.99 on weekdays⢠Chain of restaurants that advertises itself as âGenuine California Pizzaâ associated with a different type pizza dough mixed in with California cuisine. There are a few other restaurant chains that sell âCalifornia Pizzaâ.⢠Lots of fast food options within ½ mile.⢠Reviews of the Anheuser-Busch (Budweiser) beer factory tour and the Jelly Belly factory to follow.⢠After a late lunch / early dinner we headed out to the Vacaville premium outlet mall that was a short drive away (15 miles / 25 kilometres). The pizza by the slice is not as good as when you order the whole pie. The whole pizzas are true slices of NYC pizza magic. The ingredients are fresh and you can see them making it from scratch. I also tried the eggplant parmigiana and it was terrible.

My husband and I found this restaurant on TripAdvisor. This restaurant is a hidden gem. We enjoyed our meals very much. The chef was very friendly and came out to talk to us a couple of times. Our server did a great job. I had the orecchiette pasta with bolognese sauce. The bolognese sauce was wonderful. My husband had the baked rigatoni. It was very good. The Italian sausage that was in it was spicy and he really liked that. We also had spring mix salads with homemade dressings. The French bread came out warm and fresh. Very good bread. We definitely would come back if we lived here. Do not let the outside of the restaurant deter you from trying it. It is in a strip mall and hard to find. The name of the restaurant is on the windows of the restaurant. There isn't a sign that we could see. We parked in the strip mall parking lot by the Western store and laundry mat. This is a very casual restaurant with very good food and nice, friendly staff.

Our family had gathered in Fairfield (where one daughter lives with her family) for a week of family events. We ate out many times, but, we, also, ate at her house several times. Since there were many of us, and 7 people were staying in her house, those dinners were most often, take-outs. One night, she said she would order from Mary's Pizza Shack. We do not know that restaurant, as there are none here in Arizona. Orders were taken, and we had already heard (from family members) that their Linguine/Spaghetti with Clam Sauce was delicious, so that is what we ordered. Our son drove over to pick up everything, including pizza. We are always quite skeptical about take-out food, and so, our expectations were not that high. Our youngest daughter, who had spent her Junior Year of college in Italy, and loves to cook, told us that this dish is as good as hers. Well, we doubted that ! However, everything truly was most delicious. I could not believe how good this food was. Our son brought in shopping bags packed with food, and by the end of the evening it was all gone. It all disappeared not because we were famished, but because it was so tasty. Next time, we are in Fairfield, Mary's Pizza Shack will be a destination.Thank you so much for your review! We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to the area.

We stopped in here for dinner about 8pm on October 27th while returning from San Francisco to Chico. My wife's aunt and uncle discovered this restaurant several years ago and enthused about how great it was. I was NOT disappointed! It's a neat little place that has multiple dining areas, wandering around several little corridors. The young lady waiting on us seemed a little surprised when we wandered in, so maybe they were getting ready to wind down for the evening, but the food was absolutely spot on! We ordered a large meat pizza and it was so good we brought the balance with us on the plane back to NC two days later for lunch, and it was as good cold there as it was hot the night we ate it! I highly recommend this place - the single pizza slices are HUUUUUGE! Two thumbs up!!!

We had heard good thing about this restaurant but unfortunately last Saturday evening it was not good. Each of us was disappointed with our dinner. Veal was tough, wild boar ragu was really bad and the cioppino was ok. The service was extremely slow and the waiter had a poor attitude when we asked for the bill. Three hours for dinner in this type of restaurant is very slow. I never write reviews like this and we definitely wonât return.
