Bellapais is a small village in the Kyrenia District in the northern part of Cyprus, about four miles from the town of Kyrenia. Papageno is a restaurant/pub/cafe which offers lunch, dinner, coffee and drinks. There is also live music and dj perfomance, football matches from all around the world and special events.
On a weekend it can be so so busy, so expect Little standing space, but donât let it out you off.Itâs a fun and very lively bar, which attracts largely London Turkish and local Cypriots and everyone likes to party and dance away.Staff are polite and attentive and service is always pretty quick, they do table service very well. The crowd is mixed, young groups and older friends hanging out, and itâs always very fun and the music is always familiar, 90s, 00s R&B and garage.

Ate here twice in our two week stay in Kyrenia. It is unusual for us to go back because there are so many places to try in the vicinity. Great views, good prices, great food and staff. That is why we returned
Bella Terrace is cafe and restaurant which serve Cypriot Meze Kebap, breakfast, alacarte dishes, fish, pork, snacks and all kind of drinks with its picturesque sea and mountain view location opposite of historical Bellapais Abbey.
Having regularly used the previous restaurant at this location - we returned to show friends the abbey, floodlit, from this vantage point. The location was as good as ever.Bella Terrace seems to be struggling. There were two other tables occupied at 7.30 on a Thursday evening. The menu is quite limited, and one of the items chosen was not available. The mezes were good.We realised after we finished the meal that 3/4 were missing bits the menu advertised as part of the meal. But the prices were not high and the food we got was good - so on balance it was a good choice (especially having overheard a very vocal person commenting on the "terrible" experience at another eatery close-by.

Last year we paid two visits to this lovely restaurant. This year once was enough unfortunately. Apart from the service being slightly less attentive we had a food issue that was ignored and dismissed. Overall the food was ok. Fresh salmon starter was very small, to the point where the slithers of salmon were almost transparent. Main issue though was the âslow cookedâ beef rib. 2 pieces arrived and whilst one was soft-ish the second was tough to chew, in-fact the steak knife could barely cut it. Not wanting to cause a fuss I ate only one piece and mentioned it on plate collection. I wasnât expecting another plate of food just an acknowledgement that they had a beef issue. Despite advising that they would speak to the chef no one came back to me. I found the waiter and asked what the chef said. ââ chef was puzzled as it was all from the same farmââ end of conversation...no apology, nothing. Whilst I accept that there are occasional issues with meats it was the way in which it wasnât dealt with that made us feel like we wouldnât return on this holiday - shame.Hubby had lamb which was excellent. If this had been my first visit they would not be getting 4 stars but 3. Only on the basis that I hope it was a one off and our experiences last year were lovely is the reason I have been generous.

Efendi restaurant cuisine is an art. We have developed a menu using only the best local and imported ingredients, so we can provide an imaginative and exceptional taste sensation. Enjoy your meal in a beautiful setting with unequaled service.
2nd visit to this gorgeous restaurant. It's small, booking is recommended, but the food, ambiance and service is second to none.Tables are outside and is set out like your sat in a tranquil garden.Friendly staff. Food is fresh hot and delicious. It's so hard to chose of the menu because you want to try it all. It will be my first call when I return to kyrenia.

Cozy little village bar restaurant with lovely roof terrance offering quality food. Full menu, afternoon teas and tapas boards are available throughout the year.
Wife, daughter (13) and myself in for dinner, Friday evening. The bar/restaurant is on a smallish rooftop terrace with amazing mountain and sea views of the North Coast of Cyprus. We were greeted by Andy, one of the owners, and seated at a shaded table, which was nicely laid out. The menu was unusual insofar as no items mentioned chips; a rarity in these parts. The menu was explained, a nice touch, and recommendations were suggested. I was fascinated to try the green bean soup with tarragon, wife and daughter had Thai fish cakes. Soup? Wow! A very delicate himt of tarragon made this as good as any soup I have ever tasted. I know, it's only soup.... but the chef obviously tasted it at every stage to get the precise amount of flavour to make this dish stand out. Nice fresh bread too. 10/10.Wife and daughter raved about the flavour of the, beautifully presented, fish cakes. Not a bit was left. They award 10/10 and both wanted more, so I suppose we'll have to return!Main course; I had mushroom penne pasta. Beautifully flavoured and a good size portion with the right amount of mushrooms to pasta. It wasn't at all dry, perhaps a touch more cream sauce wouldn't go amiss? 8/10.Daughter had crispy wonton chicken, a first for her. Again, beautiful presentation, perfect portion and a request to return and have it again! 10/10.Wife had cod on a bed of rice with a Thai sauce. As above, absolutely nothing to fault in any way, apparently the cod was superb and very fresh (I don't eat fish, so passing on wife's review). 10/10.Desserts; choice of 3, so we had them all to share. The creme brulee with rum & raisin was boozy, but nice, 7/10, the peaches and particularly nice ice cream was just that; basic, but a nice finish to a meal 7/10. The other dessert was ice cream with a topping, nothing special, but nice to finish with. A higher mark is given for the quality of the ice cream, 6/10.Eavesdropping the table of 4 ladies adjacent, their experience mirrored ours, "thank God, no chips!!!", "wow, the food is amazing".There's a nice wine menu and bottled beers are very cold with a nice selection, as most places here only really serve Efes. Service was prompt, efficient and very friendly. Food arrived hot and on hot plates. After my comments to Andy (boss), he introduced me to the chef, who I had to thank personally for his serious skills and extremely high standards. An all over fine dining experience at sensible prices. A bit of background here, we have friends on the island who have taken us to very many restaurants, all very posh and with amazing reviews. We enjoyed them all immensely, but the food at The Stone Cavern, beats them all hands down. So, in summary, would we go back? Andy, we'll see you this Friday, 18:30. Many thanks. S, K & M.

A simple homely restaurant that serves great food. We had the moussaka which was very tasty and the mixed grill that was succulent. Probably some of the best of either that we have had anywhere. If you want fancy with a sunset view go elsewhere. If you want a family run restaurant with great food and great value this is your place.

Bellapais Gardens is a well known name for us who live in North Cyprus. The hotel namely has a restaurant often referred to as the very best when it comes to âfine diningâ on the island. One of the brothers, Selim, is head chef, and his food attracts visi
A step from the Abbey, with its teeming crowds of visitors - even on a Monday in October!, this hotel/ restaurant is slightly off the beaten track and takes advantage of the stunning views. The decor is quaintly old fashioned and peaceful after the crowds. We were given a warm welcome and seated immediately. The food was good- stand out was a dish of roasted figs with goats cheese stuffing although the sweetness of the dressing was a bit too much for my taste. A generous salad of halloumi was a perfect foil for the richness of the figs although the greenery was a bit tough. The lamb kebab was generous and well seasoned although very slightly chewey- no idea why it is necessary to serve it with rice, fried potatoes and pitta bread and boiled vegetables. A satisfying lunch and good value for money. Excellent service.
