The Hotel Schloss Auel near Cologne has been run as a hotel since 1951. With its centuries-old tradition and its unmistakeable atmosphere, it is a unique place. Allow yourself to be enchanted by its comfortable tranquillity and beautiful setting.Even Napoleon stayed at Schloss Auel in 1811. The room which has been named after him is still there today. Of course, each of the rooms is unique. They are furnished with precious antiques and beautiful fabrics. Amenities such as TV as well as Internet access are provided in every room.Our restaurants ~ Choose between our castle restaurant or our "Bistro" with a sun terrace. Both restaurants are open 7 days per week.Schloss Auel is set in the middle of a stunning 27-hole golf course. Resident guests are getting a 30% reduction of the greenfee. Complimentary WLAN and also parking are avaible.
A Summer's Evening
Reviewed By John PThis was our second visit. The first was in the pouring rain! The Hotel is just outside Cologne and in the middle of a 27 Hole Golf Course. The Hotel itself is an old Schloss fully restored and modernised 20 years ago. We dined outside in the evening. The food was excellent. The breakfast room is now shared with the Golf Club but is a good continental breakfast. Bedrooms are excellent and you must see the Chapel!

Reviewed By adeelanwerThe hotel is set in a remote countryside and thus the location as well surrounding scenery is quite beautiful. The hotel is well built and quite old. The furnishing though good in quality but give a vintage feel. Service staff is in general very cooperative and good. There is no room service so you eat at the restaurant next door.

Reviewed By JubileePhilWe stayed one night en route from a fabulous family wedding in Nuremberg as a stopover before the ferry from Ijmuiden. It's a family run restaurant with rooms and from walking in, through to breakfast the following morning, we were made to feel so welcome. All the family speak excellent English and made a point of chatting with us. It's clearly popular, and rightly so, and it was busy with lots of local people eating in the restaurant that Sunday evening. The menu is is extensive and we enjoyed a delicious meal served by the son whose English helped translate some of the long list of mains given my limited German. Fine food, warm atmosphere, great hosts, beautifully decorated restaurant and bar, comfortable room - highly recommend!

Hotel with a twist (for me)
Reviewed By Rob SBooked by a college, price on the low side breakfast basic but good enough. Rooms are outdated and the pillows are horrible but clean. Shower good enough but the shower gel in a paper mini bag is horrible please change this as this makes the place in to a 1 star hotel. friendly helpfull staff ? why the twist ? look at the pics and think ?
