Murtillo apartments is an ideal place to stay while in Pelio. The location is amazing as the village of Kissos is picturesque and beautiful, close to all the nice beaches. The rooms are super clean and comfortable. The host is the definition of Greek hospitality. The breakfast is not to be missed as it is prepared every day by the host herself. All in all an excellent place to stay!

We were stayed for 6 nights at Horefto Beach Pelion and the receptionist recommended that we must visit the beautiful town of Kissos. While in Kissos we asked the locals the best place to eat & they pointed us to Restaurant SYNANTISI. It was their exceptional quality of food very friendly staff warm hospitality and quality of service that for our last 4 day's of stay we visited this place every evening. Restaurant provides good selection of wines, excellent quality lamb & pork and the best salad together with the best stuffed Green peppers and tomatoes we ever had during our one month stay in Greece. On the last day we met Ria, a lovely person with unparalleled hospitality, that is a Brand in itself which fits very well with in the total brand that this gem together with their staff provides. From all the restaurants we visited in Greece this place has left a mark on us.

We welcome you to Greece and invite you to visit the virgin eastern slope of Mount Pelion, the mythical home of the ancient Centaurs. Stay with us at Kissos village. Situated at 700 meters, it is the highest village on the mountain's eastern side and overlooks the Aegean Sea. Samanlis Estate, located at the village's entrance, extends over three acres filled with chestnut, ash and walnut trees.

The location is great, nearby the main squares of traditional village Kissos. You have access by feet to supermarket, taverns, coffee shops, pharmacy, excellent bar Sxolarxion, paths inside the forest and springs. The landscape and vegetation of Pilion and Kissos is unique. A natural explosion of trees, green, flowers, water springs and fresh air to breath. Iliodora is a lovely traditional guest house run by a family. The building is old but completely renovated according to local traditional architecture. Rooms are spacious, very clean, with nice wooden furniture, bathrooms clean and luxurious.(I have stayed in deluxe room, however I heard that other rooms were also great. There is a nice lobby where you can enjoy breakfast or coffee when it's cold or raining. The garden is great, with trees and vineyards on top, giving excellent shade when it's sunny in the morning. There you can also have morning breakfast or drinks. The family that owns and runs the place is exceptional people. Communicative, hospitable, genuine and kind. They make you feel like home. Their handmade jams, fresh orange juice and oven baked pitas are not to forget... Excellent, value for money choice to stay in Pilion mountains, unless you need to go totally on private in the middle of forest.

Perhaps I am the only person to give this hotel an absolute zero but my conclusions are based solely on my very negative experience. Attribute this to me arriving there in the extreme low season? Not sure but the men who run this place via REMOTE CONTROL were both misleading and dishonest, yet sympathetic. I booked this hotel in advance via Hotels.Com. Leading up to my visit I noticed that there were very few pictures of the hotel itself and what was presented was vague. The location via Goggle Maps street view was also limited. Hours before our arrival, the owner (Vassilis) texted me to ask me when I was to arrive. I took this as a very positive sign that he was caring, attentive and alert. He was warm, friendly and professional in out text messages. When I arrived, in the rain I could not find the hotel although I knew it was somewhere very close to where I parked (another issue - no parking in the square). I walked into a dark, damp mini-market run by an elderly gentleman who spoke no English. I tried to ask him where the hotel was. He showed me a wrinkled slip of paper with the numbers 24 & 25 on it. He motioned me to follow him. We walked into an absolute empty, dark and forbidding hotel, barely lit. He motioned me to walk upstairs, alone. Was I entering as haunted house? I saw two rooms ready for us. I walked back downstairs and met an elderly woman who also spoke no English. So I assumed things were right and brought my family into these rooms. After 10 minutes we discovered there was no heat, no functioning toilet, no hot water, no WiFi and nobody to talk to. It appeared as if the hotel was actually closed for the winter but for some reason they let us in. This began a long, drawn out process of texting and telephone conversations with the two owners. Both were out of the town on business somewhere else, managing our check in via remote control and through these two very elderly parents perhaps? I also found out that there would be no breakfast served as I ordered! Vassilis apologized for the problems but said he would get back to me. This nonsense went on for an hour and it caused my family and I much grief as we were tired, wet, it was late afternoon and we had to search for another option. We were told we could use another larger room, suite's toilet but not sleep in that larger room. After being totally disappointed we just packed up and left. This was a total waste of time and I am sorry about it. People reading this critique, look at the pictures provided here, on TripAdvisor, they are no indication of anything. In summation, ours was a terrible experience. In retrospect I do not understand why Vassilis took such an interest in my arrival hours before when he himself was nowhere to be found? Maybe as a lone dissenter, I recommend travelers NOT STAY at this establishment and I hope Vassilis and his associate do not charge me for this awful experience.

At famous Pelion in the prefecture of Magnesia is found the traditional guesthouse "Atrapos" in the beautiful village of Kissos.

Just don't go there! Very bad behavior from owner; she did not keep any anti-covid actions (e.g. she did not use mask in the room); she asked the money before have the change to take a minute to rest saying that she will give me the receipt after two days!!! The toilet lid was broken and she said lays that she will replace it.
