Had the most Fabulous stay at the Selkirk Arms Hotel (2 nights) end May 2022 - the rooms are warm and comfortable, with the most Friendly staff offering the best service ! The Food was outstanding and Chris (owner) ensured that my wife and me had the most Special time in Scotland serving up the best delicacies from the kitchen. The restaurant is value-for-money and must be on every traveller's pit-stop and the pleasant ambience is something that draws you back for another visit ! Well done to Chris & his team at the Hotel for keeping the place the Most Top Rated Hotel in Kirkcudbright! Thank you once again for offering us the Best Time of our trip ! :)

We were attending a family party in Gateway of Fleet and needed accommodation nearby and found this lovely hotel on booking.com. The hotel was easy to find and had lots of parking right outside. We had a friendly greeting from Leigh on arrival and were directed to our room which was great and nicely decorated. The ensuite shower room and sparklingly clean and the tea and coffee try had lots of offerings. Free wifi. We were out for the evening but the menu looked good. We went to the bar on our return and the beer and wine choices were good.

Geraldine & Joe have a natural gift when it comes to taking care of guests.I was allowed to just be myself at very stressful time in my life.It was a pleasure to meet them both and can't thank them enough for their hospitality and understanding. It's nice to find caring people in this dramatically changing world. In the morning the scrambled eggs that Geraldine makes for breakfast and the coffee chats with Joe set you up for the day with the comforting knowledge that you can come home, even when it's not your own.

What the actual hell, just happened here..? The wonderful Jackie that ran this place beautifully has gone and it it’s place The demon troll and his ugly sister have started to run this like no other. Nursing home breakfast at best, and the cleaning standard has fallen to the depths of despair..Avoid at all costs unless you like being bitten by fleas. WE WILL NOT RETURN!!

We went on a week’s family holiday in August and had a really good time. We went with another family, hiring the two smaller cottages at Orroland, both families taking a dog. The accommodation was excellent. Modern, clean and very well equipped. Really well set up to cater for families and pets. Lots of things to do in the accommodation in terms of games, TV/WiFi, etc with lots of space within the estate and down to the beach too. Lots more things to do nearby, particularly walks and cycling but also places to visit for most tastes. Extensive array of leaflets in the accommodation helped with this. We did not get through everything we wanted to in a week so may well be back.

Lovely welcome from Dee on our arrival and from then on we felt right at home. Lovely friendly helpful host and a lovely very well equipped double room with our en-suite shower room and a great view over the town. Excellent cooked breakfast each morning with lovely poached eggs. Dee asked us if we minded dogs and when we said no we were introduced to her two Jack Russells Twiglet & Spike and of course Rafa the cat who were all very friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely stay here and Dee is a great host who organised our taxi to and from a local hotel for our dinner as well. One piece of advice I would give anyone planning in visiting Kirkcudbright is to book for dinner in advance as although we managed to get dinner each night we were lucky as most hotels / restaurants were booked well in advance. We loved our stay with Dee at Barrhill Woods B & B and would definitely stay here again.
