Fretheim Hotel boasts mountain and fjord views and is somewhere you can look, taste, listen and absorb magnificent nature. The hotel is immediately adjacent to the Nærøyfjord UNESCO World Heritage site. This fjord has been chosen as one of the world’s most beautiful destinations several times running! The hotel was built in Swiss chalet style at the end of the 19th century, and over the years has grown and developed in pace with the increase in tourists and travellers using the Bergensbana railway and, later, the famous Flåmsbana railway. The oldest part of the hotel has been carefully restored to reveal beautiful details, with open fires and antique furniture in the lounges, library, conference room and, not least, in all the historical guest rooms. Take yourself on a journey of discovery and enjoy the atmosphere of glory days past.
Lovely historic hotel, with a modern extension, but nicely integrated. I strongly recommend the buffet dinner…spectacular and amazing food. If you want to stay away from the cruise ships craziness this is the place. The rooms in the historic building are exquisite, nicely refurbished and provide Nespresso coffee machines…worth also a visit to the historic exhibit. Nice small walk with view overlooking the bay just behind the hotel

The rustic Brewery Hotel in Flam - with the unique Ægir BrewPub producing and serving world class beer and delicious food inspired from the Viking era. Situated on the Flam harbor, just a few steps away from the train station, but still quiet and peaceful. Built in 2008, with a rustic and Norwegian style, yet delicate and modern. Rooms with balcony and a beautiful fjord view. Activities that will take your breath away - Flam Railway, FjordSafari in the UNESCO Nærøyfjord, snowshoe hiking, kayaking, local foods, beertasting and more. Come explore our spectacular area in the heart of Fjord Norway - all year!
We liked it there. It was a nice place, the 3rd bed a little too hard, but doable. Good breakfast, coffee/tea facilities in the room. Nice outdoor seating that we could use for our dinner (see below)... The only thing that could be improved is informing guests (especially those with children) if they want a reservation in their brewpub for dinner when checking in. We were very hungry and waiting for it to open to then be told that it was fully booked. That was most unpleasant. We ended up buying our dinner at the supermarket to avoid any more waiting for food.

Comfortable apartment with a remarkable view from inside the apartment as well as from the private balcony. Full kitchen and numerous amenities. Owner is on site and responsive. I found the apartment to be a little slice of heaven. I take issue with an earlier review about the food—I had an excellent meal, including the option of a gluten-free pizza which I found to be delicious. For wine I had a glass of their house white which I enjoyed very much, as well as part of a bottle of Barbera, the rest of which a staff member promptly delivered to my room after dinner, in a manner following local laws. The setting is unrivaled, especially if there is rain on the roof of the dining room, as the sound is magical. While the path is not immediately obvious, the marina is easily accessed via a very short walk from the Flåm railway station, right along the waterfront. The view from the Flåm Apartments is far superior to the other properties in the small town. I find the earlier reviews with minor complaints to be outdated, as my room was fully equipped. I am a fairly discerning traveler who will be recommending this property to my friends who are looking to visit Norway—that is, until I have the opportunity to return myself.

I was great tour. Boat took us to Gudvangen. There were astonishing views of falls and Mountains. One of the best scenic boat ride we ever had. Great trip. From Guvangen we have to take a bus to original spot. Whole family enjoyed very much

How nice to stay at such a convenient cabin, just a couple minutes' walk to the Naerfjord cruise and Flam railway. The host was very friendly and gave us a good suggestion for a beautiful local hike while we were waiting for our cabin to be ready. Ours had to use a shared bathroom, but these were the cleanest I think I've ever seen in a campground. Well done! By the way, we loved the pub down at the harbor. Very cool place for a good beer, with really unique decor!

Heimly is a cosy pension, which is located next to the Aurlandsfjord, only 400 m from the famous Flam railway. The pension has a homely feel, with 22 rooms. 21 With shower / toilet. Large dining room with panorama view to the fjord, room with an open fireplace, TV-lounge and a large garden. Heimly is open during the summer season. We offer half-board to all guests. Train connection to Oslo and Bergen. Boat service to Bergen. Bus service to Aurland, Laerdal Gol, Geilo, Oslo, Voss and Bergen.
My wife and I had a break in Flam on our tour in Vestland. Heimly Pensjonat seemed to be a good choise for that purpose. In fact it was a god deal compared to the centrally placed Hotels. We had booked our one night stay included a three course dinner. Compared to the prices at the hotels, we got our dinner at a bargain price. The personnel gave us splendid service, were friendly and very helpful. For us the dinner was very good and tasty. We even managed to empty our plates, which we normally only do when ordering just a two course dinner. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, our beds comfortable though a little narrower than we are used to. Heimly is situated a short kilometre from the train station and from the quay of our boat for the next day's onward travel. With each our suitcases on wheels, we made that easily by foot. There was only a quite big TV in the common room. With a TV in our room, we would have considered the place to be very good.

· Comfortable beds, cheapest place to stay in Flåm at the time, kitchen was clean, bathrooms were clean. · Due to the fact that the buildings are old and historic it’s fairly loud but everyone was quiet at a respectful time. It ran out of toilet paper and paper towel in the bathrooms. Check in and out process was a little unclear to me. I never officially did either because the staff weren’t around.

We booked the two bedroom apartment through booking.com. After dragging our suitcases over footpath and gravel for 15-20 minutes with two kids, we reached the place, all excited about staying in the beautiful white cottages we saw online. The reception was closed. A note was stuck with our name and room number on it. We walked to the alloted room, and found it was was smaller than we expected and had only one bedroom. I called up on the number provided on booking and was asked to wait for someone to come and check things out. A receptionist showed up after 30 minutes. And told us that the room given to us is a studio, because the two bedroom apartment we booked is not available!!!! Wow! She said she is clueless why this happened coz she isn't the one alloting rooms. We asked her to call up her manager. She did, and was told to give us a larger apartment at a different location. We were disappointed and skeptical about this new apartment. She did not even have any pics of this new place to show us. I requested her to get me a cab to this other place. She called up her manager and said "They don't want to walk". That sounded awfully rude to me. The manager showed up with his car in some time. Made some apologies and drove us in his car to the other apartment. Something positive after 2 hours of chaos. This other apartment was much larger for sure, but had only one bedroom and was somewhat run down. What finally lifted my mood was the beautiful view from the windows. Also there were some conveniences nearby like a coop and couple of restaurants. However, I am writing this review to let anyone looking forward to spending time in the white cottages amid hills and fields shown in the pictures know that you might be in for an unpleasant surprise.
