I don’t usually ding hotels too much as long as I get some rest. But here at Alpha, that’s hard to come by. The room was 204- which is odd because it’s one level DOWN. You are below grade and there is no air circulation despite having a large window. It was still at night and the room got no cooling breeze. It was probably one of the worst sleeping hotels I’ve ever stayed in. You have to DUCK to get through the door of your room than take 3 dangerous steps down to the floor. An easy place to fall if the lights are off. The window had no screen and there was no way to prevent a cat, rat or burglar from just walking into your room if the window was open. So I had to sleep with the rolling metal screen down just to keep stuff out. I did NOT feel safe. But even with the window open, it was below street level so you get no air. Breakfast was nice. They need to add some chairs to the covered front porch. At 159-229 Euro per night (due to a large trade show in Frankfurt) this was not a good value.

We got placed in this hotel by Lufthansa after we missed our flight connection at Frankfurt/M airport, and had to stay overnight. We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel starting from our arrival in the middle of the night, as the staff were extremely helpful in accommodating us, since we arrived without any luggage. We got a nice quirky room on the "Adventure Floor", called the "Bamboo Room" (see pictures). We ended up enjoying our stay thoroughly, including the very extensive and delicious breakfast. The style of the hotel is very German, meaning a bit quirky and old-fashioned decor, but very well maintained and clean throughout.

Completed in 2002, the hotel, with 36 rooms all located on the third floor, serves mainly to accommodate people who come here for various training and conferences. The rooms are spacious and cozy with elegant interiors. The location at the impressive landscaped park is very quiet, at least at night when the surrounding business park sleeps. Despite its location on the edge of a commercial area, it is surrounded by greenery. The only major drawback is that there are no restaurants in the area, apart from a hamburger place. You should have a car if you want to go around to see something. It's a huge complex with an ample free parking lot in front of the hotel, as well as indoor parking. With large daylight flooded atrium it is a well-built conference and event center with optimal connection to public transport and airport. The hotel is suitable for weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries, concerts, company parties, and other functions.

Nochmals vielen Dank an Frau Weller.

My stay at this hotel was not a good one. I was visiting from the UK and had spent the previous few weeks notifying the reception that I would be arriving late, and communicating that I would need to check in after the advertised closing time. I was reassured at every stage “everything will be OK” they said. I even telephoned from the runway on the night of my arrival to say my flight was running late, and they assured me that my key would be waiting from me. Imagine my sadness then, when upon arrival, at 12 midnight, in a foreign country, with no sign of life anywhere in the locale, to find my key was not left out. I proceeded to spend 45 minutes in the cold, on the side of the road, while my partner (back in the UK) and myself telephoned the owners to get the problem resolved. At first we were accused of being incompetent and not finding the key, then, finally, it was acknowledged a mistake had been made. All this after so many communications to let them know I would be arriving late! I was eventually let in at 12:50am by a man who arrived in a catering van, who worked in the restaurant opposite the hotel. He offered no apology, simply saying “my bad” and didn't tell me how to get to the room (it’s not obvious due to the hotel layout). So it was 1am by the time I was inside. I had to be up the next morning for a business visit, so was extremely unimpressed. When morning came, I made myself aware at the desk, enquiring about any check in procedure and was offered no apology whatsoever. If this wasn't enough, on the final day of my visit, the pre-booked taxied was taken by another guest! However, a small consolation to the whole debacle was being told that the room was being paid for by the business I had been visiting. I queried this but was assured this was the case and my money was refused. Four weeks later an email arrives from the business I had visited….the hotel room has not been paid and the account is outstanding. I thus had to make an international call and pay for the room over the phone. Again no apology or explanation was offered when my name and booking number was given. Hands down the most incompetent stay I have ever experienced, and I have travelled round half of the world and stayed in many places.
