Beautiful park like setting 1 mile south of downtown Elk Rapids and 10 miles North of Traverse City. You will enjoy our newly renovated guest rooms that come equipped with everything you need to have a comfortable and relaxing stay. Enjoy nearby wineries, golf courses, beaches and much more. We also have 200 ft of private beach on Grand Traverse Bay just a 5 min walk from the inn.
Basic hotel, no amenities. A little overpriced for what you receive. It is ok if you are just looking for a place to sleep. Our main issue is we paid for the room and after we got home we checked our credit card and there was another $50. charged to our card. There is no reason we should have been charged an extra fee. We left room in as good of condition as when we arrived except bed wasn’t made. I tried to call them and so far have not received a response.

Inn
For the price of the regular rooms they are extremely small. Absolutely no room to move around. We were able to upgrade to a cottage which had a King bed, couch, TV, sink, kitchen table and of course more room. Though I honestly wish I had found a cheaper option overall.

One of three villages that comprise of Shanty Creek Resort, a four-season ski and golf resort straddling Bellaire and Mancelona in Antrim County, Michigan. With two ski areas, four golf courses, and multiple lodging options across 5,000 beautiful acres in northern Michigan.
Just spent a long weekend at the Cedar River Lodge and stayed in room 003. Great location for our young kids who were able to just walk out to the pool. We loved sitting in the hot tub watching the kids play in the heated pool. Skiing was super easy since we could just walk out from the room fully dressed and jump on the purple lift. Room had 2 queen beds which worked great for our family. Gas fireplace was a nice touch and helped to dry our ski gear. Will definitely stay again and will ask for the same room.

Here in the heart of northern Michigan’s Chain of Lakes region in Antrim County, old fashioned hospitality and year-round outdoor recreation reign supreme. Across 5,500 acres of rolling countryside, Shanty Creek displays four beautiful seasons and four distinct villages surrounded by unspoiled scenery. Each village delivers a slightly different flavor while collectively being part of the Shanty Creek experience. From summertime golf, biking, and boating to winter’s favorite snow sports, Shanty Creek’s Summit Village, Cedar River Village, and Schuss Mountain deliver family fun, traditions, and value.
Golf is 5 stars. Resort is 2 stars. Rooms are OK, but no daily housekeeping. I tried to get my wastebaskets emptied and some coffee cups halfway through my stay, but no response. Food is 1 star. Service is good, but food is overpriced for the quality and quantity. Suggest you eat elsewhere. The two restaurants on the property, but unaffiliated with Shanty, are good.

Away from the hustle and bustle of the slopes, it’s a great getaway just for some quiet time. Time to catch up on reading next to the fireplace. The place I stayed at is well maintained, clean and well stocked with dishes, pots and pans if you feel like cooking. There’s a grocery store nearby for supplies. I used it as a home base to visit Charlevoix, Petoskey and Traverse city for the day. Not the place if you like crowds and continuous events/ activities specially this time of the year, just before the holidays.

A-Ga-Ming means many things. To the Native Americans, it is a word meaning "on the shore." For families from across the Midwest and the nation, it means a beautiful vacation destination, complete with lodging, dining, and relaxation. For the golf community, it means a 72-hole golf resort nestled on the shores of Torch Lake and Lake Michigan in 3 beautiful, highly sought after, Northern Michigan locations. For everyone, it means the perfect destination for group trips, membership & daily-fee-play, dreamlike weddings, legendary family reunions, celebrations and more!
We had a group of 12. Stayed at the Vista Townhouses. Accommodations met everyone's expectations. Great customer service - very flexible and easy to work with. Courses were in great shape, despite the heavy rain the day prior. The Brick Oven at the clubhouse might be the best food in the area. 5 Stars

We loved our stay at this B&B! Mike & Deb are great hosts who served amazingly delicious breakfasts, which were prepared with fresh, seasonal fruits & vegetables were beautifully presented. Our super clean, nicely decorated, quiet, airconditioned room with private sundeck, had breath taking views of the Aqua waters of Torch Lake. They offer Kayaks and Paddle boards (or Sunset Boat Trips) to explore the lake, which we did take up the offer of Kayaks (what great fun). We will be going back!
