Amazing place to stay! We stayed here for almost a week during christmas time and it was such a vibrant place to be! Raman, Chris and everyone else had an open minded, friendly, easy-going vibe. Connected a lot with them :) the room was just amazing, with views of the sea and palm trees. You can use the kitchen, the common area is super neat and cozy, internet was fast. Laundry is also fast and inexpensive. All the lovely people, do stay at the Lost!

Pastel green and blue building with a horde of coconut trees on three sides and the Arabian Sea in the front, Zostel Varkala is a backpacking hostel dotted with pretty spaces. It provides a kickass sea view from the rooftop and all the rooms. A chirpy reception welcomes you into the hostel, where you’ll be guided further with elaborate and vivid wall art that paints the lives of men and women on its salty shores. A veranda circles all the rooms here, giving you the mandatory balcony space to watch the sun go down or play a game of catch. The rooftop is a fancy business, with patio loungers and ample spots to work, snack, paint, and create. Facilitated with mixed dorms, female dorms, and privates alike, the rooms follow a rustic wooden sense of design and tag along with windows and balconies that bring in the air and the sun. Backpackers linger over at the rooftop for an energizing game of Jenga and cards or a soothing guitar jam, keeping the vibe warm, cheerful, and very social. Varkala is one of the rare beach towns of India, in terms of topography and charm alike. It brings with it a fine platter of beaches along with a lighthouse, a fort, and umpteen roads laced with coconut and palm trees. Surfers and parasailers make its shores an aquatic playground, whereas jolly backpackers and hippies linger over by the cliff, trying scrumptious seafood and shopping dreamcatchers. Sunrises and sunsets bring out the violets and crimsons in otherwise shy skies here, whereas night-time is a treasure trove of constellations.

The resort is located very close to the cliff. Very accessible. Unfortunately I could not stay here. I just went for an Ayurvedic treatment. The single day treatment was very effective, mainly for my back and hamstring pain. The doctor is experienced and knew what he was doing. Next time I will plan for a longer stay. Overall I would suggest people to check this place out.
This is a beautiful & secluded hostel within half an acre of land with a back garden and trees. You can have a glimpse of the beach from here while sipping your coffee/tea. We are 5 minutes away from the Varkala(papanasam) beach by foot. South Cliff, Kochuvilamukku, Varkala, Kerala 695141

I stayed here both with a friend in January and again on my own a few days ago. Both the location and service were great. Pramod was always helpful and very friendly. The whole place was extremely clean with spacious outdoor areas and a well equipped kitchen. They also supply drinking water. Well worth the money and I will return again !

Initially we found it a little difficult to find this place, but the host was super nice! He came looking for us, when we reached close to the place. This was really a nice gesture. Overall the stay is basic, but comfortable. It has all the basic amenities needed. And the extra things if you need any, you just need to give a call to the host. The highlight of the stay was the view from the terrace of the place. It is so calm and peaceful! I highly recommend this stay in Varkala.
