Gravensteen

The only surviving "castle of the count."

Reviewed By Spud479 - London, United Kingdom

We visited on a red hot day and the castle was cool in more ways than one way lol For 12 Euros we collected the audio tour and chose the English tour, a Belgian comedian called Wouter Deprez gave a wonderfully funny version of this horrible history, he got the tone just right and We found ourselves laughing out loud on several occasions ???????? This is great value for money and a must see when in Ghent

Mercatormuseum

Reviewed By 355stefang - Brussels, Belgium

If you like maps.... than you'll love this museum! Though on the smaller side, this museum has wonderful items on display. Mostly maps from various periods, but also globes, surveying equipment, cartography items, etc. The Staff spoke English, but note that there are no English descriptions - Dutch only. There are two parts in the museum where one can watch films and these are in English. A clean, well organized little museum off the beaten-path. Recommended for anyone who likes maps, or even history.
