Ideally, reservations for visiting must be made at least a week in advance. Our guided Nature Walks are about one and a half hours long and are conducted at 9:30am and 1pm during weekdays and 10:30am and 1pm during weekends. The Pointe-a-Pierre Wildfowl Trust was founded in 1966. We are a national, not-for-profit environmental organization dedicated to Environmental Education, Public Awareness and the research, breeding and re-introduction into the wild of locally endangered waterfowl species and other wetland birds. As an inland, freshwater habitat encompassing approximately 32 hectares and 2 lakes, we are uniquely situated within a major petro-chemical and oil-refining complex, making it the only one in the world.

We spent hours with Theo learning not only about the magnificent display of hummingbirds, but of the deep history of Trinidad. Both were an incredible experience. His photography and slide show is icing on the top as was a delightful lunch.

This is along the way from the tar pit back towards PoS where you stop to take the boat on the swamp tour for the birds. You need about half an hour here. Key things to note - don't touch the flowers given this is a holy area within the initial gate, take off the shoes if you want to enter the temple, and bring some bread or crackers to feed the fish that come up to the shoreline to the right side of the temple (right side when facing it upon entering).

This is a once in a life time experience. The scarlet ibis fly in to roost in islands S in the swamp. They come by the thousands. It is truly amazing to watch. We also saw blue herons, hawks, an osprey, great white heron, long nosed bat, snowy egrets, flamingos and a silky anteater. It was a perfect day

Yes indeed we were very satisfied. It was family oriented throughout. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Stayed at a cabin so we had access basically all over that was accessible. Construction for improvement was visible and from conversation with the man himself ..... Harry .... the park is expected to continue to be better and better
