Reviews on Healthy food in Killarney, Province of Munster, Ireland. Forget fashionable footwear, only your most comfortable shoes will cut it in Killarney. It's a walking town, and every trail is a history lesson. Journey on foot through Ireland's first national park, 26,000 acres of woodlands, sandstone mountains and low-lying lakes. When your feet wear out, take in Killarney National Park via boat from Ross Castle. And because there are more hotel beds in Killarney than in any other Irish town or city (besides Dublin), you'll always have a place to rest your head (and feet).

The Tan Yard in Killarney offers a casual, high quality dining experience in an interior setting inspired by the historical tan yards of Killarney, where hides of livestock where tanned to produce leather. The Tan Yard menu features delicious steaks and b
I want to preface this review by noting this is a beautiful restaurant, our meals were delicious and the server we had was pretty good (inexpereinced but pleasant). The reason for the 1 star review is down to another server also working that night who made the whole experience VERY disappointing, and who in my opinion is a disgrace to her profession and this establishment. Our party of 4 attended for an early evening dinner on Sunday September 22nd and were seated immediately in the dining area where there were only 2 other tables with diners. We ordered drinks and an appetizer to get us started while we perused the menu. When our server dropped the drinks at the table I asked for a glass of ice. Our appetizer was delivered to the table by another server covering this same section of the restaurant - since we were not yet given sharing plates (or the ice) we asked her if we could get both. She was clearly agitated and rudely walked away from us while we were still asking ....however, she had clearly heard us since she delivered both a few moments later. I'm unclear if her frustration was because she had to do a little work for a table that wasn't hers or whether there was some friction between her and the other server. Either way, the customer should never be on the receiving end of such frustrations. A short while later we were in need of drinks again and the server who had previously been dismissive passed by our table several times without acknowledging us, even though it was clear we were trying to get her attention. My husband politely asked her if we could order from her, she briskly walked by as though she didn't hear him, then responded "did you ask me something" on her way back again. When he asked if we could order some drinks she told him "we would just have to wait a minute". The next time she walked by she still did not take our order but instead told us she would get our server. It was her over all attitude I found most distasteful and this whole experience made for a very unpleasant evening as she continued to walk by our table for the rest of the evening completely avoiding any eye contact. Our party of 4 have a combination of 50 years experience in the hospitality industry and arepas tolerant than most guests might be, but I know from experience this level of service fell way below par! I appreciate Killarney is a tourist town (we also were tourists) but based on our visit I would caution other diners and recommend trying one of the many other eating establishments in the area.

Introducing Curious Cat Wine Bar, Killarney's newest, most chilled environment to enjoy a catch up with friends, an intimate date or a relaxing drink after work. Wine and Tapas served Wednesday-Sunday and live music on certain nights.
I had the good fortune to be invited to meet a friend here, otherwise, I never would have known about it. What a pleasant experience.? The tapas menu, the selection of rioja & the very personable Richard make this place a very special experience. My friend & I enjoyed a very pleasant evening & I will look forward to returning to try out other menu items & of course, some other great wines served in a very convivial atmosphere.
