Reviews on Gastropub food in Navan, Province of Leinster, Ireland. The main town of County Meath, Navan is the gateway to “the Heritage Capital of Ireland.” Ancient historic sites and religious ruins abound, and the Iron-Age monuments of the Hill of Tara alone are enough to fill you with awe. There’s so much more, though, like Trim Castle and the Abbey of Kells and the Neolithic standing stones of Brú na Bóinne. Book a guided tour so you can soak up as much as you can.

13 American visitors on a bus trip to Ireland. Went to this restaurant on a busy Sunday evening and had a wonderful experience. Staff were excellent and helpful and explained everything to each of my friends. Food was excellent and the service was superb. Beer was enjoyed by all and I certainly will be returning to enjoy the experience again.

Part of Cookes Pub in Caragh we offer a delicious range of bar bites to suit all tastes, from Louisianna Wings to Pizzas.
As one of our party had food allergies and intolerances, we emailed in advance and communication was friendly with very quick response rate. The menu was sent and a good variety was available for our planned Sunday Lunch with a ready willingness to adapt. An excellent first impression. We were there for Sunday Lunch and had a choice of the lounge or the restaurant and opted for the restaurant so that we could enjoy our conversation. Food was served in a timely manner, without feeling rushed. Options were explained clearly and adjustments were made to accommodate allergies without fuss and very pleasantly. It was quiet and peaceful there until a diner arrived with strident voice!Starters: We enjoyed the bruschetta and the chicken wings.Mains: My friend was full of praise for the linguine which he described as full of flavour and was very impressed by it. He promised to return!I decided to go for the pork for a change, with adjustments, and gave it the seal of approval. We passed on dessert and finished our meal as usual with coffee. We look forward to going back again. This visit ended just in time as a large party was arriving.

New to the midlands is the fabulous Station House, it's beautiful modern decor and outside food will keep you coming back for more.
We first arrived and we had to wait on a table which was absoluty fine. We Ordered while we waitied in hopes that when we were seated we would almost have our food. This wasn't the case. We waited 45 mins for starter, Chicken wings were nice ( nothing special the same you get everywhere). The Kids food came out with starters and they looked like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for the 45 mins we were waiting. The turkey and Ham was so dry and the mash was literally stuck to the plate. Veg was frozen. After another 20 mins out came my Chicken Burger ( I had asked for no bun) but with Salad and Chips. I got a Fillet of chicken that looked & tasted like it was marrinated in a curry sauce from a chipper with a few chips, a tiny pot of cowlslaw and then....... a pot of Tzatziki.....My mind is still boggled. Not as much as a lettuce leaf. My daughters beef was nice in fairness but the same problem with the Potato and Veg. The staff were very friendly but unfortunately that didnt make up for the disapointing food. We were really looking forward to eating here after all the photos put on Social Media. Total waste of â¬90. I honestly feel robbed.

Kildares newest restaurant , chilled out vibe great food made with local fresh ingredients by award winning chef owner Aidan Kelly in a rustic and laid back modern dining experience
we dropped in here for lunch with no great expectations, the service was excellent and unlike so many eateries the chicken wings had loads of chicken on them. their soup was excellent with very tastie chips. will be back for a night meal having since heard great reviews of their steaks. both bar and retaurant staff were excellent.

Weirs Bar & Restaurant, Multyfarnham, in County Westmeath is a charming old world, Award winning family run pub that serves some of the best food and drink in Ireland. Our specials for the day will represent fresh seasonal specialities that are available
Ate here recently with friends. Lunch. It was completely forgettable - or would be if it wasnât so disappointing. Mackerel salad for starter. Masses of salad leaves and less than an ounce of fish. I kid you not. Mackerel is not expensive so thereâs no excuse for the amount served. It was tasty but not enough to justify the price. Main course of battered cod, hand cut chips and salad. I donât recall been offered any choice as to whether I might have preferred vegetables to salad. In any event the salad was just the same as accompanied the starter. Boring. The fish and chips however were truly great. A batter as light as silk yet crunchy as possible. Chips were delicious. Desert - bread and butter pudding with custard - I declined the toffee sauce. This was the most disappointing part of the meal. A squat portion of very heavy / dense pudding that had very little flavour. Ditto for the custard. It was, to be frank, grim. The cutlery with each course while evidently clean was âcloudyâ and off putting. Probably a very minor issue with the dishwasher. Coffee was super. Really, really good. Finally, it was a bright and sunny afternoon. Unfortunately, the sunlight just highlighted the need for a detailed spring clean - not of the room per se but of all the photos, ornaments and general bric a brac used to provide atmosphere. Most of it is covered in a very visible layer of dust. Iâve been to Weirâs a few times in the past and been quite happy. Thatâs why I invited friends there for lunch. It needs to up its game. It is not a cheap lunch venue.

We always stop here for a bite to eat when we travel home from dublin. Had the wings and the smoked trout Crostini for lunch today. Always delicious. Service is great, buzzing atmosphere and food is top notch. The wings are always part of my order as they are the best wings in the country. I love that dry rub. Full of flavour. Already looking forward to coming back next time
