I cannot understand the very good reviews. We also stayed at the hotel and were happy with that (separate review), and without a car we were bound to also eat here. Staff was very friendly, but on all evenings many items were just not available, e.g. the praised beef with mushroom sauce or any kind of duck dish. So it was not easy to order something that interested us on 3-4 occasions...Finally, on the last evening the beef was available, and it was really good. The salsas were OK, but nothing really special, and always the same. Guacamole was good, as was the ice-cold beer. The Margerita is a desaster, skip it.

Went up to the top here for a great view of the main square in Palenque. They had a good beer selection but were were mostly here for the view. The music was bad and blaring loudly which was the only downside (but it is like that everywhere).
En café zots disfrute de nuestras bebidas a base de café orgánico, producido por pequeños productores de chiapas. acompañado de un delicioso desayuno con ingredientes tradicionales, por las tardes disfruta de nuestras especialidades en crepas, papas relle
Beautiful upstairs mezzanine restaurant space for a fresh and delicious meal. The staff are super friendly and helpful and spoke enough English to compensate for our broken Spanish. Our meals were so fresh and delicious - I loved my choice of chaya and mushroom chilaquiles. The range of drinks is also amazing - highly recommend the horchata. I had cafe horchata (shot of espresso) and it was the best.

Delicious place for having breakfast, lunch or dinner, or simply for enjoying a great cup of coffee, a beer, a nice natural smoothie or a drink, watching the park and the passersby. Excellent location to enjoy the song of birds as they return to sleep, th
Good hot coffee, and good food for the price. It is right on the corner of the town square, so you can enjoy the activity and people watch. It is very clean and offers such a variety of menu items. There are fruit smoothies, cocktails and beer, and light dining fair. They sell the house ground Chiaps coffee, at reasonable rate. It is a nice souvenir, a way to remember Palenque after your vacation is past.....

Cafe Jade is one of the recommended restaurants in the Cañada area of Palenque. Couldnât figure out why it was so full except that there arenât many other options that are any better. Food is ok. I had a decent vegetable tomato soup. Guacamole was plentiful but bland...a little hot sauce helped. Enchiladas with mushrooms & chipoline were good but a bit soggy on the bottom.

Once more in Palenque to walk the archeological site (amazing!) but I had never been to Monte Verde. It was really worth visiting... We ordered salads, a couple pizzas and the best: ravioli with sautéed vegetables and shrimps, simply delicious!! And donât forget to enjoy the surrounding rain forest!

Bajlum, its a place to rejoice with the richness of the flavors of mayan people of Palenque. At Bajlum, our diners will enjoy the exquisite flavors of the exotics meats and the natural vegetables from the mountain. The quality and certificacion of the pro
Intriguing concept of pre Hispanic foods. Host/owner very informative and seemingly passionate about traditional Maya food. Well presented and really tasty , several local meats, quail, venison, crayfish and shrimp, wild boar, cooked perfectly with a choice of local spices and sauces. Traditional tortias of corn and root vegies accompany dinner. Great addition to trekking the ruins for history buffs. Great cocktails!
