Wertheim's Altstadt is beautiful, clean, with fountains and half timbered houses, little shops and cafes in the marktplatz. I am perhaps biased as I have many fond memories of childhood summers spent roaming the streets and alleys of Wertheim visiting my grandparents. Little is changed in the historic section, but clearly kept up! Wonderful little town, castle, and rivers surrounding it.

This outlet was one of the most beautiful ones I have ever seen so far. Great design, beautiful stores, love for details in every corner! All of the staff I met were outstandingly friendly and helpful! Special thanks to the two ladies at the Kate Spade store! You really made Shopping turn into an experience. The location and everything was great and I surely will come again!

Last July we took the Viking riverboat Cruises from Budapest to Amsterdam. Half way through the trip, the evening entertainment was glassblowing. Hans Ittig provided a riveting glassblowing demonstration on the riverboat that included his story of his family's many generations in the business. It was the high point of the riverboat entertainment. The next day we did the walking tour excursion into Wertheim Germany. The excursion ended near Hans's Wertheimer Glaskunst shop. We enjoyed looking at his creations and ended up buying a few. While checking out, my wife noticed a beautiful translucent blue "Wavebowl" with an orange lip along the top. I'd estimate it was about ~20 inches across and ~14 inches tall. My wife is a Univ. Florida fan whose colors are blue and orange. Yes, you guessed right, she fell in love with it. Unfortunately, the couple in line in front of us bought it, they too are Florida fans. Fast forward to November. I was pondering a gift for my wife for Christmas. I recalled the Wavebowl and remember taking a picture of the outside of Hans's shop. Now I had the shop name and was able to reach him via the Internet. He responded that he had a beautiful Waveboat and sent pictures. It was beautiful. We live in Texas, USA. Hans assured me that he ships products all over the world and was absolutely confident it would arrive in perfect condition, so I closed the deal via PayPal. My wife was so surprised on Christmas morning when she opened it! Now for the rest of the surprise. Hans included a book on the history of Wertheim, a very special glass coin showing the Wertheim castle, a DVD, and 2 shots of Jagermeister! It was a wonderful Viking vacation, a fabulous experience with "our" glassblower, and culminated with a treasured Wavebowl in our living room. It doesn't get better than this!
