While visiting The Shops at Wailea, we decided to participate in a ukulele lesson. Austin is a fabulous instructor. Within the one hour, he had all of us (most of which had never held the instrument before) playing 4 chord songs with proper technique. It was fun, educational, and a wonderful memory to have upon returning home. Highly recommend!

First time here; will definitely go back. Lots of truly authentic Hawaiian items - great to browse and enjoy and of course, buy! A must go to when in Wailuku or on the way to the Iao Needle.

Artist gallery and working studio. Come meet the artists and see them work! The gallery showcases over 30 local artists with a wonderful sculpture garden that features sculpture and indigenous edible plants! A family of sculptors, Steve and Christine create their work on property from wood, stone, clay and bronze. From monumental abstracts to lifesize realism, challenges are always welcome for any project!

Iao Valley State Monument, Maui, will remain closed indefinitely due to extensive damage from heavy rain and flooding the night of September 13 and early morning on September 14, 2016.
Kepaniwai Heritage Gardens in Maui is worth a stop to walk and enjoy the gardens, the nature, and learn about contributions to Hawaiian heritage from people from other countries (Korea, Portugal, China, Japan and the territory of Puerto Rico). The gardens need some maintenance, but still the natural setting in a valley next to a flowing river and mountains makes for a beautiful walk. When we were there in January, we saw quite a few birds in the trees also. Covered shelters are available for picnics. No admission fees and free parking too.
