We went here because we figured we knew what we were in for. Wrong. It took them forever to get the order right, half the items on the menu weren't available, and when we finally did get our food....the chicken was like chewing on military boots.

When I think of Subway, I think of sandwiches. On a recent road trip, we stopped at the Subway in Greenwood, Indiana. It is attached to a gas station but seemed clean. I don't know if it was the acoustics in the restaurant or if it was my mid-south accent but I had the hardest time communicating with the staff. All I wanted was a Veggie Delite and had to repeat several times what veggies to include and exclude. Hubbie had a Roasted Chicken but the bread he initially requested was not available. In spite of the difficulty placing the order, the sandwiches were good, correctly prepared, and up to Subway standards.

I'm usually a pretty easy reviewer and it takes quite a bit for me to not like something. Usually it's when someone tries to rub my nose in it. You can review my other posts and see that is true...We were on our way home from Ohio and stopped at this Firehouse for lunch. It was about a quarter to two in the afternoon. As we walked in we found a line of about six or seven people. Nothing too unusual for a Firehouse as we have been to several in the past and always enjoyed.After finally having our order taken I went to fill my drink cup only to find out the ice was all gone. The woman in front of me informed them at the desk that they needed ice. She was ignored. Finally, I yelled across the restaurant that we were out of ice and that they were ignoring us...the people lined up behind me for a drink and me.Finally the manager sent someone out to fill the ice....so far so good....sort of...We then went and sat down to enjoy the diet coke and a bag of chips while waiting on the sandwich. And sat.....And sat....After MORE than twenty minutes (24 to be exact) a sandwich was brought out to us. Of course the order wasn't correct and it was only luke warm. I guess I should note while we waited two other people took their sandwiches back because they were incorrect. At this point I didn't care and ate it. While we ate, at least one other person took their sandwich back and another walked out.Not sure how long this restaurant has been here but if they don't clean up their act, it won't be for long. I notice another reviewer had a great experience here. I'm happy for him, but I won't be back to this firehouse.Valued Guest, thank you for bringing your recent visit to our attention. Providing excellent service and food are important goals of ours, so it's truly disappointing to hear about the unprofessional and inattentive behavior you describe. We were in a hurry driving through and we needed a fast lunch. We stopped here and were very happy with our sandwiches. Didn't feel "gross" after lunch. We actually stopped at this same Subway on the way out and the way back home on a trip. Great service! Great lunch!

This restaurant was very clean with some booth seating. The employees were appropriately dressed, friendly and efficient. The bread was really good and the sandwiches were made with fresh and tasteful ingredients. The restaurant is convenient for local visitors and out of town guests. Will go there again.

20 minutes to go through a drive up window for cold food? Come on! The only benefit is they are open later than other fast food places in town. You are far better off at Culvers.
