Small restaurant by subways usual standard. Food and staff are good, and you get served quickly. The restaurant could certainly do with a refit about now.NB. No customer toilets on site.

I love this fish and chip shop. Cod or haddock in crispy batter - thick and juicy with big white flakes. Battered sausage with that special sausagey taste that crunchy battered soss should have. Mushy peas, curry sauce and unusual chips coated in something slightly orange before they are cooked that makes them yumptious! Dinner of kings. Try it, you won't be dissapointed...

Disappointed .... have always loved the ashby grill for quite a number of years and have highly recommended to friends but tonight .... a chicken shish with three pieces of chicken is taking the mick! Salad is fresh and delicious but only finding 3 small pieces of chicken is truly awful! Youâve lost another customer ....

Go to Marlin and you will never want to go anywhere else. Cooked fresh while you wait, even a tray of free chips while you are waiting. This is the ultimate Fish Shop. The menu is not just Fish and Chips they do lots of other stuff as well all cooked to perfection. Try it for yourself and you will be sold on Marlin.

Usually a regular customer that is satisfied with the service. However, ordered a Chinese from CK House in Ashby last night and was told it would be ready to collect in 40 minutes. We arrived to collect the Chinese and unfortunately they had given our food to the delivery driver by mistake.They apologised for this and said we would need to wait for the driver to return with the food. I then asked what was going to happen about this and they said they would re-heat the chips and stick in some free fortune cookies (wow). We continued to wait another 20 minutes for the food. Whilst we were waiting we over heard a phone call telling the customer that received our food, that they would receive a full refund and the correct food would be sent to them. However, we had a cold chinese (we just ate it because at this point we were starving), warmed up chips and some fortune cookies?? this wasn't fair at all. Can't help but think if we had kicked our feet more we would have received a free meal. Just left completely disappointing as we were having food with friends and highly recommended your takeaway.

The food is so fantastic that there is always a queue but it moves really quickly. Everything is cooked fresh and is piping hot. The portions are massive. Enjoy a picnic on the benches outside. The staff work together like a well oiled machine. As good as it gets!

So I don't get fish from here anymore as it's always greasy and slimy. I popped in to get a cone of chips today and the lady started dishing up a normal portion. When I reiterated that I said cone she told me I have to ask for them to be open. Who EVER asks for a cone of chips to be open. IT'S A CONE!!! She then told me at least twice that I should have said open to which I said don't worry about it I don't want them.As I was leaving two people said bye to me in a very sarcastic way. The manager then came out into the car park shouting at me and as I drove off he tried to hit me through my car window!!! Absolutely incredible stuff. I have never witnessed anything like it in my life. I only wanted a cone of chips. (Open obviously).

WE have sued this pizza take away for years. The price is good for the quality - order over hte phone and always ready when you go to collect or have delivered to home - filling always genuine and real Italian pizza's - would not have been there all these years if not always of a good standard.
