Things to do in Wolfsberg
S'landhaus is a traditional Austrian restaurant/gasthof serving great food. The portion sizes are large and the quality is excellent. The menu has a really good selection, with plenty of starters and main courses - including vegetarian options. There is outdoor seating as well as indoor, a large private car-park and even several kegelbahn lanes (skittles). If you would like to taste traditional Austrian food, then this place is excellent. I will now be a regular visitor.
Spectrum is a large restaurant within Tenorio shopping centre in Wolfsberg. There is a large underground parking area and Tenorio is directly opposite the central bus and railway station. There is outside seating on a balcony, and quite a lot of tables indoors. Although it is on the first floor, there is a lift, so it is wheelchair accessible if needed. The service at Spectrum is wonderfully friendly and we have always been well looked after. They have a large, mainly Austrian menu, but also a fabulous range of Burgers. We love the food here. It is always really good.
Fresh and tasty food. The rainbow trout was well presented and tasted fantastic. It was served with parsley potatoes and roasted vegetables. Portion size was perfect and the service was excellent.

We spent two evenings out of our three in Wolfsberg in the Br. Franz Josef. This is a multi faceted business near the town centre, offering a bakery, brewery, restaurant, and bar. The food is traditional Germanic fayre, but well presented and cooked, and very good value too. To cap it off the home brewed Wolfsbrau beer is first class - I recommend the Naturtrup, which is an unfiltered lager style. You can eat in either the restaurant or bar, and there are private rooms for groups too. For example, we had 2 starters, 2 mains, a salad plus 5 pints (!) and the bill only came to a very reasonable £32 ($48). Helpful staff, with an English menu too. Every town should have a place like this.

This restaurant has a very short selection of dishes during the week aand apparently a somewhat better choice at the week ends. We were there on a Friday, we had the choice between a non interesting cheap menu or an item on the selection for the evening menu.Nothing was tempting but we finally chose a Styrian chicken dish with salad ( very average) and the duet pork and beef tenderloin ( very disappointing, big chunks of second choice meat which we could hardly cut, the whole drenched in a so called mushroom sauce which tasted as it had come directly from a powder package) . Way too expensive for the low quality of the meat. Sitting outside was pleasant but there is no view . I came there because of recommandations read on the internet, I was very disappointed.Service was very good , the only positive thing about this restaurant.

Fantastic location in the castle which dominates the skyline above the quaint old town of Wolfsberg. The castle has been fully renovated and offers spectacular views from its wonderful terrace. We wtched the sunset from here while enjoying drinks and light evening snacks. Friends had recommended the venue after dining here earlier in the week. The staff are friendly and the service was good.
