Restaurant by the Lake, Italian cuisine of meat and fish, wine list with Sommelier in room
Having spent many months in Italy, and eaten well in 50 other countries as well, we can't remember most of the fine meals we've eaten. But we'll never forget lunch here. 1) Gorgeous location/view at edge of lake. 2) Warmest of welcomes and wise advice on dishes. 3) Spectacular food -- 2 truly exceptional pasta dishes, a deliciously tasty/fresh whole fish caught that morning In the lake plus a couple of glasses of prosecco and bottle of delightfully dry white. 4) All (plus coffees, water, etc) for an amazingly reasonable price ( given quality of good, location, etc) of â¬70 for two. Two wonderful, magical hours we'll always remember with delight and gratitude.

The menu will take an hour to get through it. We counted approximately 240 variations of spaghetti on the menu! Ultimately, we gave up and told the proprietor to make us 3 sharing dishes one with fist, one with meat, one with mushrooms. The food was good, but there was a ton of food. After three courses, I was done and spent the next 90 minutes wandering the beautiful night scenes of old Viterbo. There are several better restaurants, but this one was very good. Just bring your appetite.

We had a lovely meal here, The sushi toscano was a riff on carpaccio, rolled maki-style, with truffle. Risotto was splendid. Meals are reasonably priced but very cleverly imagined.

The Portichetto is a spacious restaurant but well-defined traits in which the reception sites ranging from the pretty and refreshing (in summer), outdoor space, a large reception room with pizzeria in view and finally to a quiet room where you can celebra
It was a good lesson in not basing a review on just one experience. Our first visit here was fine. The pizza was good but not exceptional. Service was a bit curt and slow. On our second visit the food was really excellent. We ordered the tagliata and it was done to perfection. Although it is not that big on atmosphere, I am glad we gave it another chance.

Had pappardelle pasta and some delicious cuore di lattuga salad for a quick dinner, and would go back there any time. Pasta tasted like pasta, and not like "nothing" with sauce. Very nice. Lattuga came with some kind of fried hamy bits which were also very tasty. Unreserved recommendation!Place itself looks fresh (quite unlike the drab grey surrounds) with imaginative decorations, and the staff are low key, naturally friendly but still know what they are doing. If in the area, do not miss out!Oh, and the price is civilised, relative to all the tourist traps in the wider area.

I haven't been to all the local restaurants, yet, but I'm surprised it seems to top the list. Don't get me wrong the service was attentive, food was good (we had pizza) and the price was ok. What we felt it lacked was warmth. The main restaurant is a huge tiled room with large tables well spaced from each other. If you are there for a wedding on a lovely summers day it is probably totally different but on a cold and blustery November evening it felt uninviting not withstanding the service. I was hoping for a warm inviting country house but what I got was cold and uninviting. Outside they have a decent garden area with a pretty pergola which strongly suggests their main business is in wedding reception market. One point on the food, we ordered pizza, fine. But they brought us an appetiser of thing focaccia which was very nice but not what you want when you are about to eat pizza! After a few slices of the focaccia she couldn't finish the pizza. Better would have been a lovely canapé that showed off the chefs skill and maybe might have brought me back to try something else other than pizza. I asked for a wheat or white beer but I got a lager. Not sure the waiter knew the difference. The prices were average.

I came back again to San Martino for holidays, and also this time I'm gone to this fantastic Restaurant where I've aeten fried apple with pecorino cheese and honey, fantastic combination, cheeses with fruit mustards, ravioli with purple patatoes with cod sauce and fresh mozzarella. Drinking a good beer from a local brewery. What to say more, very very warm the hospatality , were the clients are wellcome. They speak many languages and you can understand what you eat cos the menu are wrote in 3 languages. If you arethere, try it....
