We noticed this nice looking restaurant as we were driving through Pleucadeuc and decided to stop for lunch. It turns out to be a husband/wife team whom both know good food and how to look after their guests. The â¬12 lunch menu is fantastic value. A cold buffet for starters while one can choose between a main og the day or a steak & fries. There were also two choices for dessert. All four of us chose skate in an orange sauce as our mains while our desserts were either a creamed rice with caramel or pineapple fritters with ice cream. All the food was fresh and nicely presented. The hostess makes her guests feel welcome in a tastefully decorated modern restaurant with quality utensils. There is also a nice outdoor area adjacent to the inside dining room. If I could I'd give this restaurant 4 1/2 stars for their lunch experience and we were curious about what their evening service would deliver. Highly recommended.

Sorry, but the auberge is temporarly closed for family reasons. We thank you for showing interest or loving us and tell you more as soon as possible. Marc and Magali for ever
We have just had the best meal of our holiday; excellently cooked, well presented and exceptionally tasty. We had been looking for a restaurant that would be different from the usual creperies and pizzerias in most of the tourist towns - though we have enjoyed many of our meals in such places. Aux bonnes joues is what we wanted; an authentic restaurant with proper home cooked food. We had chosen to go here specifically for lunch (and it would make the perfect lunch en route between say Josselin and La Gacilly) but it would also be the perfect spot for a relaxed dinner with friends. Itâs in a pretty little village, just by the church with parking a few metres from the door. You can tell that Magali and Marc really care about the food and service that they provide. This, for us, is what made our meal special. We were warmly welcomed by Magali as she was bringing in fresh cut roses for the table. We chose from one of their two âformule menusâ and enjoyed a wonderful 4 courses for â¬20 each...amazing value! The starters (salad and a terrine) were tasty and large portions, the mains (chicken in a cider sauce) showed how a skilled chef can make even a humble potato taste fantastic, not to mention the cider sauce. Then, three cheeses with the best bread weâve had anywhere and finally, a trio of perfect desserts. If we lived here, weâd be back on a regular basis. The is the kind of restaurant we hoped to find on our trip to Brittany and we encourage you to stop by and try it too; you wonât be disappointed.Waow, what a fantastic review ! Thank you so much for your contribution, we are so happy you loved the food and the ambiance. Even if you don't live in the surroundings, never hesitate for a second try if you visit Brittany again, we will be happy seeing you again.

I suppose you can get bad pizzas in France but mercifully I've never had one. This little restaurant was doing an average sort of trade when we sat down but the numbers quickly multiplies making the lone waitress really regret the missing staff member, who had phoned in sick. Some tables obviously waited a fair while, although we were served promptly and efficiently by the poor girl who was being run ragged by the ever increasing clientele. We had a salad with gesiers and magret de canard, plus a delicious pizza. Just what we wanted.

Have visited this restaurant several times, since April and we have not been disappointed. The new owners have been here since last October.Food is freshly cooked, with fresh produce, and imaginative dishes are prepared.Lunch is fixed menu, with 3 choices for each course. There always seems to be a fish choice for both starter and main. The service is friendly and efficient. In the summer months they have a terrace with a large awning if the sun gets too hot.Inside has been updated with a modern look, and has a light and airy feel to it.The seating is comfortable .We willl certainly be back in July.
Loved everything about this restaurant. Decor, atmosphere, service were all excellent and the food is outstanding! Excellent value for money too.It was so good we returned the following night for a new menu of delights. If you like food, don't miss this. A true gem of a restaurant with a very talented chef and fantastic front of house. Thanks 'Le Pont 9' for an exceptional double french treat!

Unexpected surprise venue. The only place we found open on their Liberation Day. Very busy as you can imagine but service excellent, smiley staff & lovely location in the centre of the square of this medieval town. We chose their set menus, which included a bowl of cider & coffee, which we thought to be very good value. Also available were a large selection of galettes & crêpes as well as some meat & salad options. Very relaxed atmosphere with outside seating as well as indoor. Will definitely revisit at some point in the future.

The only people eating on the thursday evening were ourselves and 4 other english people so the atmosphere was very quite. Restaurant was well laid out and had a ramp entrance for those who had mobility problems. Service was a bit slow and the main course of beef steak was undercooked despite asking for"medium". Prices compared with other local restaurants with a 3 course meal for 28 euros.Disappointing.

A really delicious and memorable meal - the highlight being the starters, the best being a sea-food pastry dish; light, flakey puff pastry covering mussels in a rich, creamy sauce served with salad lashed in a delicious dressing. For mains a few of us had the sausage and rice, which was alright. The sausage had been cut into small pieces, but the flavour was a little underwhelming and a little difficult to make out.Desserts were good, with the rhubarb on my crepes being expertly cooked - soft and not too bitter, which was a nice surprise. We finished with hot beverages, but my cappuccino didnât really seem like a proper cappuccino - just as if a âshortâ coffee had been prepared with extra milk/cream chucked on top.To drink I would recommend the sweet cider. I would actually drink this by the bottleful myself! The childrensâ menu was really creative and offered things like steak that you donât normally find on childrensâ menus. Large portion sizes too.As soon as we arrived we were presented with a plate of sliced salami which was a nice touch. Our waiter was jolly and polite too.Someone in our party though did order the mussels and chips; the chips had been cooked really well, but the moules had a peculiar smell and really werenât appealing.
