Reviews on European food in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, India. Just 45 minutes out of the city, the East Coast Road first stops at the historic town of Mahabalipuram. The 7th century erstwhile port city is famous for its rock-cut shore temples. A lone lighthouse on a hill watches over a group of temples below. Mahabalipuram also has some great cafes that serve good sea food. A backpacker’s delight, one can find cheap accommodations and plenty of activities.

And by natureWe stopped by for a drink mid afternoon to check out the menu for dinner later and were the only ones in the restaurant. The menu was completely uninspired, probably because most of the food from the previous night was still appended to the menu itself. There were no hot drinks available, our second choice plain lassi arrived as sweet as can be and the first attempt at the bill was 20% higher than the menu prices.Needless to say we didn't return for dinner.

Having learnt cooking from a very young age, from my mom who specialised in fusion cuisine, here is a legacy i want to carry for her and my own passion...
Went to Eli's kitchen again, this time again with different friends . Again it was a big success. For all.I keep coming again and again because of the fantastic fusion food, super service and phenomenal value for vivers! Caters to all tastes.Close to Mahabs, near to Chennai, lovely location. Home grown vegetables and soul food cooked from the heart.I recommend this place to everyone.

Othavadai Street in Mahabalipurm is lined and dotted with plenty of food joints and many of them run by foreign expats. Johnny's Corner Sea Food and Restaurant is one such joint. They specialize in sea food of which I am not a great connoisseur. My friends were craving for some authentic sea food and hence we visited this place. They loved it for sure.

We had our meals here during our stay at the radisson blu hotel. The food spread is very good and has a huge variety of both local and other varieties. The deserts are very good and has a wide variety. The set up is also very pleasing.

The food was just about edible, the people who run the place need a lesson in hospitality, the cleanliness questionable! Even when compared to local standards, this is a place you should not regret giving a miss. The owner (I think he was), a french gentleman, was drunk and unpleasant, the waiter surly and inattentive. The grilled calamari was NOT grilled and tasted of nothing, the chips underdone, the tandoori fish (red snapper) was tolerable, the salad bland without dressing and all in all very disappointing. Good luck if you still wish to dine here... there are plenty of much better restaurants in Mamallapuram.
