Came in for a family lunch with our toddlers. As we'd heard, the outside is amazing. Great fun setup for little kids, loads of space to play all the way down to the river. They have a bouncy castle which a lot of kids loved, but it was pretty close to the gravel car park with not much of a fence in the way. Wouldn't feel comfortable letting a 5 year old play here without pretty close supervision, between the car park and the river. It's not a fully-enclosed play/eating area like you see in some other pubs, like the George+Dragon in Upton.Staff were friendly, even the barman who accused me of jumping the queue. I'd just gone around to the back bar, which was open, because all I wanted was to refill a glass of water. Maybe queue-jumping? Not sure. But is was pretty funny, and a slightly grumpy barman is part of what you pay for in a place like this. (I have hearing problems so I might have misheard him.)So I'd definitely come here with the kids again. The food quality was pretty average, just standard pub food. Happily ate it, but not much better than what you could cook at home. It was...fine. Better than Wetherspoon's or whatever, but definitely not gastropub, especially by the standards of this area. Nice beer.I felt every dish was overpriced by about £2-£3, meaning the final bill left a nasty taste in the mouth. So it's cheaper than soft play, but I wouldn't come here for food with just adults.Thank you! Sorry you felt that way about the food?! We are completely independent so we price our product accordingly. I am very keen on adults supervising their children closely especially if the guardians are consuming alcohol. (Although I have liability insurance Iâd rather not have to use it!) maybe next time you pop in take a look at our specials menu? Also, my staff are always friendly and happy to help and always operate on a queue system whether you are paying for a drink or having some tap water. Please introduce yourself next time, weâll see if we can improve your experience

PERi-PERi & Chicken You can't have one without the other Nando's combines the universal comfort food of chicken with our legendary PERi-PERi marinade, resulting in a taste to fire the senses and feed the soul Nando's is an inclusive brand where there
We visited today for our first ever Nandos experience and definitely wasn't disappointed. We ordered the butterfly chicken with peri peri fries and coleslaw and the butterfly chicken burger with coleslaw and spicy rice. The service was friendly and welcoming throughout and the food was served really quickly. The chicken burger came in a delicious warm bun and everything was absolutely faultless. We will definitely return again.

Very impressed with Le Clos. Lovely fresh tarte flambé, mixed salads and great wines. Friendly service and we were completely amazed that our dog was also welcome. Perfect, light, unfussy and delicious lunch venue. Shame weâre only passing through Wallingford on a narrow boat but will remember for next time.

We booked four tables for the night before our daughters wedding, eight to ten people per table, booking a month in advance. Arrived at 19:00 for 19:15.Orders taken quickly, first two tables served starters and mains, we had a one year old with us, asked if she could have her dinner first due to her age, waitress said she could not but we could have some bread for her, after forty five minutes enquired where our food was, as the table behind us had now been served. We were told they were short staffed and the chef had a bad knee! Although we had seen people arrive in other parts to eat who had been fed and left.Eventually the family with the baby left at 21:30, no food for baby but fish and chips put in a pizza box for them. Our food, four duck salads, two fish and chips and one liver eventually arrived at 21:45.When I asked the waitress if the chips I had were their âhand cut chipsâ as advertised she said no, is that a problem? Of course itâs supposed to have hand cut chips. When I said I would speak to the manageress she said âI bet you willâ.We have eaten here on numerous times over the past three years on the run up to the wedding, thatâs why on this special occasion we took forty people here, we made a big mistake.

The Kingswell has a welcoming atmosphere & provides the highest standards of freshly cooked, locally supplied food, drink & effortless service. Located in the beautiful south Oxfordshire countryside only minutes away from Harwell Campus, Abingdon, Wantage
We had let the hotel know when we booked on-line that this was a celebratory lunch as requested on the booking page, but on arrival nobody appeared to be aware of this. The staff were slow taking drinks and food orders even though there were few other guests in the restaurant. As we were in no hurry to eat this was not a problem, but it may effect others. The food arrived 50 mins from arrival at the restaurant and was excellent. The choice from the menu was fairly limited but adequate. The staff were friendly and we and our four guests enjoyed the evening

We had a family lunch here recently and it was excellent! Hearty food, generous helpings and a great atmosphere. Also very good value and attentive service.
