Called in for a late lunch on the way South to the Algarve. A lovely restaurant in a beautifully restored old building with a very welcoming proprietor and staff. Ate secretos of pork from an interesting menu. Very tempted by the Menu Exectivo at a very reasonable price but we had a long drive ahead..... the pork was delightful and served with apple âmashâ. Wine list almost exclusively from the Beira region. The white by the glass was so good that we bought several bottles from the Tourist Office next door. Francisco deserves to do well in his restaurant - the food and the welcome were outstanding. Well worth turning off the main road!

We were looking for a restaurant near our accommodation and despite a few questionable reviews on TripAdvisor we decided to take chance. There wasn't a problem. We hit on a quiet night, the service was good, the staff friendly, the food excellent and the price very reasonable. I ordered Bacalhau a Muralha and it was delicious. The only problem was that I was served more than I was able to eat.
Located in the historic center of the village, typical portuguese food, vast choice of artisan beer, regional wines, organic products such as fruit and vegetables
Very nice place. Good food. Nice waiter. Biological food. Fast service. Tried the pork with roasted potatoes and some nice biologic tomatoes. Not expensive.

Excellent service, worth of the detour from the autoroute between Portugal and Spain. Excellent food and desserts. Owner and general staff always ready to help you.All dishes recommended.

This restaurant, located just outside the walls of the Almeida fortress is obviously a favorite with the locals. While we ate our late lunch/early dinner there, other tables were filled with working people having their fill of the good, home cooked food served there. We had the daily special - a cod dish prepared with shredded potatoes and cheese in a casserole dish, salad and the vegetable soup of the day. We also shared a half liter of house red wine and a yummy dessert (of which there were many to choose from). All was very tasty and incredibly reasonably priced. Service was with a smile despite the fact that we were obviously eating at the tail end of their lunch hour. Highly recommend.

We went there before Xtmas 2014. The food is great, tradicional and with a fair price. The restaurant is really nice. I really enjoy it. It has a good variety of dishes, however some you can only have them if you order in advance. Since it is a restaurant in a small place it is understandable, not at all a problem as you have plenty of choice. From the dishes we ordered everything came excelent.Carefull at dinner time, as it closes early (for Portuguese standards) and I am not sure if on sunday evening is even opened.
