We had two great tours (one 'solo' to Furnas and east, one w/ 3 other random couples to Sete Cidades) with Samuel Rego of Greencorner Tours, who grew up on Sao Miguel. Not only knowledgeable he is a great guy to spend a day with, speaking excellent English and a good conversationalist. He was also a good driver, no small thing with mountainous roads. We would highly recommend seeing Sao Miguel with Sam!
